Ain't It Funny

Seems strange to me that the now defunct MINARDI TEAM ( and always the LOWEST FUNDED TEAM) can still front up with 2 seater cars to give people an experience of F1 racing, and they have done for years, to the benefit of CHARITY !

IF Minardi can get money from people for Charity, then think what Ferrari could achieve ! that is if they were not so focased on just ONE thing in this world!

This is because Paul Stoddard has always donated alot of money for charity and he thinks it is important (which it is). I cant imagine Jean Todt donating anything to charity, but the same could be said for McLaren, Toyota, BAR and Williams. It seems to me that to become a F1 team boss you need to be a real tight a## when it comes to charity.

Wait a mintute didnt Mclaren make two seater cars for charity? :eusa_think: Remember Ron gave Murray walker a go with martin Brundle at sliverstone for his 60th Birthday, I know that not really charity but Id say he did let other people.

He faught for a fighting fund, and I wish I could speak to him in person about Montreal 2003 Press conference about that notebook he had.

He is no saint, but most are much worse apparently.

Oh, on the topic of charity, I read in the newspaper today that some gravel traps for the 2006 Australian GP weekend will be pink, yep pink, in order to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Research. Fantastic initiative.

It would be a better idea if they were yellow in support of prostate cancer.

Yeah I agree. The disparity in funding and awareness is disgraceful (considering comparable numbers die from each illness). Why do people try to raise awareness for breast cancer anyway? Who here has only just learnt of it? People just jump on bandwagons when it comes to charity imho. It was a nice gesture from the organisers but I wish people would think and support a cause that is (particularly) under-funded.

Stoddy was no saint!

and he was australian to boot. One down two to go I say!

I saw the 2 seater Minardi's racing at kyalami this weekend. They were quite impressive actually for what they are. Herbert was racing the one as well as Baumgardner & BAR tester Alan van der Merwe.

The point I was getting to is that the passengers in the cars paid A LOT of money to get those rides. I would'nt be surprised if Minardi dont still make money though them!

My sentiments exactly. If prostate cancer cannot be supported in such a male-dominated arena, where can it be supported? I think it's outrageous and being a male, offensive, that these flimsy Australian men can't stand up for themselves. This would not happen in a Canadian hockey arena.

Shaun, I would like you to address my comments.

Why dont you like Barry Humphries and Merv Hughes. I think England has some people who we wish when they came here we could arrest them under our anti-terror laws, Prince Charles for example. The entire Royal Family is something that Australia could do without.

All tongue in cheek, my friend ^_^ . You are welcome to Prince Charles, but I take it that you are a Republican?

I have no problem being linked to England. I just dont like the Royal Family. Something i have always wondered in a hyperthetical situation, if America invaded New Zealand and we defended New Zealand (as we would) what would England do, techniqually we are still part of the British Empire, there are only 3 opinions.

1. England help Australia

2. England stays neutral (which would mean that they ignore our defence treaty)

3. Join America in the invasion

Dont take this personally Americans, i know you have no wish to invade New Zealand (who would) but im just curious where English loyalities are.

England would help Australia. No question. We may take the p**s out of each other, but we are still sort of countrymen. But I don't speak for Mr Blair, of course.

They may be ugly and talk funny but they're nice people! At least they make the effort with australia, despite australia being selfish unwelcoming ungrateful b#####ds

There is no need to get upset. I dont like the Royal Family and you take it so personally. There are plenty of people in England who i do like. I dont get all upset and emotional when you badmouth Webber and the Australian Scoocer Team.

But you do say the english should be used to losing - thats not nice! So whats wrong with the royal family then

Thats just my Australian pride talking when i said you should be used to loosing. Australia and England have had a huge rivalry for a very long time and it is fun to say mean things about your opponent, you should hear what we say about the New Zealanders, (there is no need to take any offence by what we say). As for the royal family i dont like them because their family is like a real life soup opera which i find very annoying.
