This test proves, if anyone was really in any doubt to begin with, that Legge has no business in F1.

I am not hung up about a test done by a woman but i don't know why everybody all of a sudden thinks that this means that she's going to turn up on the gird next year. It's just a test given to her by the owner of Cosworth not PS himself!

What I see is a person who got a test purely because of their sex (she's obviously way underqualified given that she spun on the 2nd lap) not because of talent and you have the nerve to suggest that she was somehow disadvantaged because of her sex? That is offensive in the extreme and I demand an apology.

F1 is a man's world only.

I was not suggesting whether she deserves it or not. There may be million reasons why a test ride is given.

Hope this gives her a benchmark to assess her talent.

Any mistake she does will raise remark "why SHE is here in first place?" Thats is what I emphasized.

Katherine goes well

Katherine Legge gave a very decent account of herself yesterday at Vallelunga, making up for her unfortunate incident on Tuesday. Legge did 27 laps and set a sensible lap time, prompting departing team boss Paul Stoddart to remark that "she's definitely got what it takes to be a Formula 1 driver."

Legge said she was pleased with the test and is now keen to have another try. Her next appointment is in America, however, where she is due to test a Champ Car. It is anticipated that the 25-year-old will race in the Atlantic series in 2006 and may move up to Champ Cars after that. The F1 test was organised thanks to her team boss Kevin Kalkhoven, who owns Minardi engine supplier Cosworth.

I take your point. But if you going to test a formula 1 car you are going to want to have a pretty good understanding of the car techanical, because after all minardi wouldnt have given her a test unless they thought she could handle it
