Seriously though, I take your point. Although I initially misunderstood your post, and despite now having a better understanding of what you're on about, I still don't think that it's jealousy per se, but rather the same frustration that irritates many of us, that Button is hailed as Britain's latest champion, without having earned it by actually winning anything yet. As a former WDC, and a true British Champion, I can see why that might chafe "Il Leone".

Wow. Just like saying Senna won the title in 1990 and 1991 due to machinery instead of driving like he did in 1988.

No, I have no idea what you are talking about! Perhaps some of the older members (from my generation) can assist me here. The Williams FW14B was a superlative beast, by far the best car in 1992. Mansell was most certainly not the best driver in 1992. When he finished second to Senna at Monaco '92 the Brit collapsed in exhaustion.

The elementary point which you seemingly are incapable of understanding is that machinery is paramount in F1, especially in modern F1.
