Ah but is he comparable with the 'great' Michael Andretti? Only time will tell

Yes because he should not have been third in GP2, he should have been 4th. Dirty tactics (I.E staying last for the whole of the last race, going in for fuel loads so he had some "light" laps so he could get the 2 points for fastest lap) made him beat Premat by HALF a point. This is all whilst Premat was working his a## off to finish third in the GP behind Nico and Heikki. Alex Premat is a much better driver. Speed's A1 efforts have hardly been impressive either, whereas, once again, Premat's have. Speed's driving style is hardly impressive either. It is not as good as Heikki's who's, in turn, is not half as good at Nico's.

That is a rather unimpressive career history for someone who is about to enter formula 1.

Justin Wilson's career history pre-F1 is better than Speed's (and Wilson competed in "better" championships) and look where he is now. Not in F1... no no, but in CCWS - Where speed should go (and stay, forever)

I think that Speed is an entirely competent driver, but to be fair, that's perhaps damning with faint praise.

He has the necessary CV for racing at the F1 level, at least as good as (if not better than) KR's was when he entered F1, but it remains to be seen what he will do at the pinacle of motor-sports. If we're going to call a spade a spade, we have to admit that the reason he is in F1 has more to do with the marketing appeal of having an American in the sport than anything else.

But so what? He'll either hack it, or end up being the American equivalent of Takuma Sato. Only time will tell......

Where was Kimi before he went into F1? What about Jenson?

Klien seemed a bit arrogant to me - talking about being better than MS before he started his first season, I seem to remember.

Don't recall that, but I do recall him saying that Michael was too 'stiff' in terms of his personality and was 'not his cup of tea'. Brilliant!

Oh I remember that :D He speaks his mind and I did recall DC saying he was very very good at feedback on the car and set ups. Because DC couldnt find a good set up for a certain track but he borrowed Kliens and DC sed it was like "near perfect" I remember something like that.

Scott Speed ... Hmmm He has a great name but I have a feeling he will be Scott Flop in my opinion but you never know. KR and FA didnt have the greatest CVs in the world but once KR got in the Sauber for a test he was something like 0.5-1 away from the normal Sauber boys time which for the first time in a F1 is pretty special and Ron was obviously impressed and Peter thats why KR scored points in his first race. As for FA he completely destroyed Tarso Marques. Then Flavio spotted his potential.

But Scott might be the same or he might just be a somebody or maybe worse (Alex Yoong :P ) I thought Liuzzi was meant to be a special driver imo I dont think so.

That'd be interesting...

If he doesn't produce from day one, then his career in F1 will be over before it has begun. I hope he realises just what he's got himself into.
