devilsinskirts 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 There's also some linguistic similarities between English and Hebrew. English Schminglish.
Kati 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 I think english it's a bit more 'sing-soundly'... german it's a bit harder and if you're not used to hear it you cannot tell the person's mood at the time. if u get used you begin to be able to make difference within a friendly german and a rudely one for example... bajo39 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 Well I guess you're just common and uncouth then. I had a really good German teacher in school while my French teacher was shocking, although she helped me cheat in my exams to make up for it. I ended up liking the challenge of German grammar, especially word order, and the crispness of the sound. Would it be cruel to say, when they speak it quickly, it always reminds me of a machine gun? I don't know... I think German is possibly the worst sounding language around, seconded by Portugese. Actually, place both Chinese dialects in front of those in any order and you have it. At the other end of the scale, you have French and Italian and English is somewhere inbetween.

Max Mosley 2 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 Yeah I know what you mean Dan. I think I liked German just because of one teacher tbh. As you say, Portugese really sucks. I think you've hit upon the true cause of Katy's love of foreign languages right there.

I don't really care about his opinion at all hehehe Portuguese is not a beautiful language for sure, but it's much better than spanish (my opinion) or french... Unfortunately, it's a difficult language to be learned... But brazilian's portuguese sounds much better than portugal's
bajo39 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 Portuguese is not a beautiful language for sure, but it's much better than spanish (my opinion) or french... You got the first part right, Portugese is anything but a flowing language. French and less so Spanish are, to the contrary, widely regarded as beautiful, romantic languages. In fact, together with Italian, I would say they are the romantic languages.

Max Mosley 2 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 what caracterizes a language as a romantic language in yr opinion? But what's your opinion? As a female language scholar you should be an expert on that. Don't say German because we all know its not true. How many great German lovers/womanisers have there been? Yeah, the term Romance Languages just means the languages that descended from Latin which was, as you know, the language of the Roman Empire. French and Italian women are both nice though.

They are more romantic for good reason too! French and Italian women are delectable creatures - have you had many, yourself? I can't say that I have had many, unless you count French-Canadian women, but the few that I have had were memorable. Sigh...

Definately not because of spanish speakers... But I like the sound of it and I don't think a man speaking french could be sexy :S And italian.. I don't know... (as u say italian men have girly voice... I believe you) Spanish is still a bit better, has a bit more 'magic' on it

Strangely enough I've had more success with German women. I'll listen more closely in future. The women are a bit better but even then.... So what is it about ickle nick that can even make the least romantic language on the planet attractive? Max Mosley 2 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 So you did. So it seems the speaker is more important than the language: even "Sebi"* can make German nice, but Spanish men aren't sexy despite speaking the sexiest language. *Even his name makes me cringe. Kati 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 Makes sense... EDIT: Yeah, you could be right... It may b a little difficult to pay attention to what Nick says on a video on the first time I watch it ... *LOL*
Max Mosley 2 Report post Posted November 2, 2006 Ah so in that case there's hope for speakers of all languages then? PS Does Nick have even a normal German accent? He seems to talk strangely to me, but I could be wrong.
