BMW will be better than the much hyped Newey car. You can argue the point but I'll still be correct come this time next year.

Thats a very bold prediction to make since we have no idea what the Red Bull and BMW cars will be like next season.

Im a bold kind of guy...

Besides Bmw are proven winners in every form of motorsport, They are sure to improve in 2007, and It's just a matter of time before they start winning races, Redbull are proven winners in helping teens party till 1am at school disco's!

I think that the driver is the one who helps to get the car going better and faster. Look at Michael Schumacher - when he joined Ferrari, the team was quite poor in terms of performance. And look at BMWs - how fast they started to be after Kubica became a race driver.

Please, that is 1 of the most ridiculous comparisons I have ever seen

BMW's tradition means sod-all. Toyota have had success in motorsport, so have Jaguar, means nothing when u get to F1

Saubers improvement from 2005 to 2006 shows the effect Bmw has on a team.

As for Toyota, Despite the Japs having a much larger budget Bmw Sauber beat them in their 1st season!

Bmw's traditions means a lot and is far more impressive than that of both Toyota & Jaguar.

Some of Bmw's honors in the last few decades:

- Formula 1 world Champions with Brabham in the '80s

- British touring car champions in the '90s

- German Touring car champions in the '90s

- South African Touring car & Production car champions in the '90 & 2000s

- Le man winners with Team Bmw and Mclaren in the '90s

- European Touring car winners in the 2000s

- World touring car champions in the series first 2 seasons 2005 & 2006

Not bad I would say!

True but touring cars is a completely different task to F1, and in 1980 they were engine suppliers - Honda have had a whole load of success with mclaren but doesnt mean they win as their own team!

Honda like Bmw is another team I honestly believe will become title challengers in the not so distant future!!!

Staying quiet is the best thing a F1 team can do. Remember last year when Button was prattling on about challenging for the championship and we all know how that turned out.

i'm fedup of everyone saying BMW are going to be so good next year, I hope they fail! Just cos they had another typical Sauber year, finishing 5th in the standings, people are getting excited

The engine freeze rule will make sure that they fail and fail miserably to the power of Renault. The Red Bull has renault power and MW will out perform NH :mf_tongue:

Says the guy with A Bmw Williams Avator picture

Redbull were average with ferrari engines... i wouldn't expect much more from a Renault engine in that package!

Considering where they where with Sauber they did very well to end up where they did. TBH its stupid to expect them to become a frontrunning team in the space of a season, and its not like Honda did much better with their numerous pit and stratergy c#ckups either. I really don't see the need to slag them off

They did have a typical Sauber year, didn't they? I think everyone is forgetting that; thanks for the reminder.

OK, now that the Church now has a congregation of two, we can start planning our biased excuses to explain the occasional rookie mistake the boy-god will undoubtedly make...........

yep, i look forward to it. I am sure he wont make mistakes under pressure though, because the present breed of drivers (Rookies) in the top teams have already dominated races after races, and above all, I think it was a super smart move from Ron to have him in the race seat rather than testing, as he is already used to racing, the only places where I think he will make mistakes will be in the tracks he is not used to, brakes/acceleration, pitting and communications (like choosing tyres/right setups). Other than these inevitable problems normally faced by a rookie, i think he should be fine. Right on Alonso's mirror, perhaps showing Alonso a clean pair of Bridgestones! hehe! okay, let me be more realistic. I will keep my fingers crossed! :D

Did I say I expected them to be a frontrunning team? No, I said I dont see why everyone thinks they're going to make huge improvements in 2007. This topic has nothing to do with Honda so keep on the subject! And by the way there was only 1 pit c#ckup. If you want to compare professionalism of teams, just look at how pathetically BMW dealt with the whole JV situation

They mutually agreed to end his contract, BFD who cares. Look at the mess your wonderful hero created, 2 seasons in a row.

You appear to be trying to start a completely unnecessary argument on something which has nothing to do with the topic. I'm not stooping to that sad level, sorry. We're talking about BMW. Everyone's barking on about how great they are and how they're bound to move up the order next year. My opinion is, they've bought sauber and have had a typical sauber year. So why should they do any more next year? If they had started from scratch with a brand new team, for example like toyota and super aguri did, then yes thier 2006 campaign would've been incredible, but thats not the case.

If you would like an argument about jenson button then start a seperate thread and i will happily battle you
