Sato slams Ralf for Bahrain collision

Results Photos

Sato leads Ralf at Bahrain

Takuma Sato was in no doubt about who was to blame for the collision between his BAR Honda and the BMW WilliamsF1 car of Ralf Schumacher in the Bahrain Grand Prix. Sato claimed that Ralf did not leave enough room and turned in on him causing the contact. Stewards will investigate the incident after the Grand Prix and decide whether either driver should suffer any penalty for the next Grand Prix at Imola.

Sato has done a great race but in my opinion he is the guilty of the accident. Ralf won the possittion and Sato just put him out. What do you think?

If FIA thinks so what could be the penalty?

Ralf has been having run-ins with just about every driver on the grid, this time is little different.

I think though.... had Ralf had to decide, or react (how ever his thinking goes)that same move should of Jacques been in that Honda he might of thought it over twice.

Ralf has a general Dis-regard for many incidents over the years that I think he has become an on track added danger .....Sato is just a general danger to himself, the two together ,well "two peas in a pod" .

Can you imagine that ...after all these twos scampering in the race they are still in the points ! ....oh yeah ,take out the two McLarens and J.P.M. can do it for you. :!:

Anyone else generally would of scraped out a point or two more for their teams ....

It was definitely Ralf's fault and I can't see how anyone could see it any different.

Ralf Schumacher has received a stern reprimand from the stewards of the Bahrain Grand Prix after being blamed for the incident with the BAR of Takuma Sato.

The BMW Williams driver was attempting to pass the Japanese driver but the two connected with Sato

does that mean he is banned from imola?

anyway...hitting giancarlo wasn't smart either there was no need for that...Ralf said sato was optomistic for tryig to keep with him in hope of getting the position back...well what about his dive...he was never gonna get there in time and only caused fisi to spin...he should really be in trouble for that too.

Not for Imola. Ralf has one warning now, he needs three to be banned

lucky this season won't be close cause im sure MS would do a 94 and use his warnings too the max to win the WDC

Definitely Ralf's fault. Sato blameless, showed him how to do it when hepulled off a classic on DC. I honestly don't know what Sir Frank saw in Ralf, he's a joke. Didn't he even hit two mechanics?? Ralf is the most overpaid driver in F1, EVER.

Patrick Head called him stupid, but I think Sir Frank is thinking that too.

Ralf is a bonifidi F1 journeyman, he lucked into his (very) few wins and has never given me that whoah!!!! GO GO feeling, the general feeling that he can't overtake is spot on and now he's forgotten how to be overtaken fairly and squarly. btw well don Sato, Jenson and the whole BAR team!!!

On some other sites talk was to trash J.V. before even the 5th-6th race last year.

Ralf has now taken on (without one quip or smartass snipe from myself or anyone else come to think of it as the) : Get OFF MY TEAM! war cry.....

Just a natural group collabration of F1 Fans on what they can easily see as B.S. driver standard ...Jacques needs to be in that Williams and we would all be very content once again. :) 8)

Ralf Schumacher can have very good races – he’s just inconsistent but he’s not anywhere near as slow as you all say. As for that incident with Sato, he might well have been more to blame but Sato had lost the corner and should have been more careful. After all he hit Ralf’s rear, as Ralf was clearly ahead after executing the move, and all he needed to do was break and not drive into the Williams. I wouldn’t have punished Ralf or Sato – it was a racing incident and nothing more. If we punish every racing incident that happens drivers will become too scared to go wheel-to-wheel and we’ll have less overtaking in F1. Further more, what’s to stop a driver with `a clean record` going into the final race and cause an incident? It’s a stupid system, but the previous one was not without fault either.

Oh and I think you set a limit on the poll because I can’t vote now and I haven’t already voted. Others might be in a similar situation so the poll might not be a true reflection of public opinion.

In fairness it was definitely Ralfs fault. He was probably thinking that as Sato is the only professional Kamikazee pilot on the grid that Sato would either pull over (so as not to cause another accident) or get blamed regardless ..... WRONG !!

Well done Sato on figthing hard and then pulling off the excellent move on DC !!

For once you got it right and your bravery and speed paid off!!!
