Hey Paul, methinks your job has/had something to do with compooters/networks? Any ideas why spellcheck (spell as you type) goes awol in Outlook 2003? And not using Word as the editor - we use a Sh#tty program called ACT! that can't cope with Word.

Ah! My bad. I can't (or my friend) use Word as the editor for Outlook 'cos ACT! won't record emails edited with Word - which ACT! needs to do. So, normal Outlook.... the spell check doesn't work as you type, only the manual jobby one performs before one presses the send button.

Well, I have got 2 PCs here using outlook 2003 and neither of the damn things will do the spell as you type thing unless it's using word as the editor. As soon as I turn off using word as the editor, the spelling as you type stops working. Is that the same for you, or did you have it working without using word as the editor?

Same for me my friend, it worked with Word as editor, no-workee without Word as the editor. It's a load of wankcheese. I'll put it down to someone else's fault, that should do it.

The only thing I can find about it is to make sure you have all the latest service packs for office. Maybe there's an update in there that gives you extra functionality in outlook, ie. it works as it's supposed to!!
