After the no-show for the Mclaren Honda
Looking at the 2017 season - what a COMPLETE let-down from  Honda
The BEST thing McLaren could do is, get rid of the Honda PU
After 3 years, Honda HAS gone backwards.
It may NOW be completing FULL race distances.
In race, it is NOT showing ANY potential
The MCL32 chassis IS highly regarded.
Are Mclaren able to drop a Renault PU in THAT chassis to compare
against/with ??

If to be closer THIS season, it WILL involve a LOT of penalties.
Though,  NOTHING to lose from the penalties now.
ONLY gain for next years PU

Well, it didn't take too long.

I am not surprised at all to read feedback provided. I would also place a large bet, that Hasegawa has really softened what went really on when he came back to Japan. Alonso has either not learned as yet, or perhaps he doesn't care, just because you can do or say something, that you actually he should be doing it. Art of dealing with Japanese - one has to be there; there is no other way.

Quiet life with Minardi for a year or more will do them good.

Brawn bought Minardi? That's news to me. I thought Ross bought Honda (previously BAR), and then sold it to MB.

Why DON`T McLaren use a Mugen PU for the remaining races.
NOTHING to lose NOW - ALREADY signed with Renault for 2018.
Mugen IS a Honda PU

The lawnmower guys (Honda) are really good at building lawnmowers, and  motorcycles.

Though cars they struggle with.  Civic and Accord, being their best sellers.

1 GREAT season with Mclaren

The McLaren MP4/4 was a highly successful Formula 1 car that competed in the 1988 Formula One season. It was designed by engineer Steve Nichols, with assistance from the team's Technical Director Gordon Murray. Nichols and Murray based the design on the lowline Brabham BT55, designed by Murray for the 1986 season when Murray was chief designer at Brabham.

The Honda powered MP4/4 is one of the most dominant Formula One cars ever built, winning all but one race and claiming all but one pole position in the 1988 season.[3] Statistically the car holds the record as the most dominant single season car with a winning percentage of 93.8% with the closest any car has come was in 2016 when the Mercedes F1 W07 Hybrid won 19 of 21 races (90.5%).

The  Mclaren Honda MP4/4,  Is STILL better than the current dominant - Mercedes

I bet Honda wishes it could build a PU THAT good NOW !!

Toro Rosso ‘optimistic' of points.
This is the Red Bull RENAULT sister team
Honda are STILL languishing at the BACK of the field.
Probably a GOOD move by McLaren to ditch Honda
For a supplier that,  IS delivering on track

It`s NOT looking likely,  at THIS stage.

Honda returned to F1 WRONG approach
Should NOT have returned with such a BIG team.
The RIGHT approach would have been to, get foot in door FIRST
THEN make somebody want you.  Right now, NOBODY wants a Honda
NOT helping the sale of lawnmowers or the Civic/Accord

Honda rotates eng. staff.

Again. This is an old practice at Honda, however I am not sure whether it is a such good idea. Taking off some work-load from Hasegawa seems appropriate, however I fear that in-depth understanding of the F1 environment might get lost in this latest reshuffle. His, just as Arai's knowledge will be now applied to other branches of their business in Japan. Good for Honda Japan, but is it just as good for Honda F1?

I think so. Reshuffle in this case is a much needed action considering their sub parr performance. Hasegawa and his cronies needs to be replaced with fresh blood. 

For the sake of F1 competition, I hope Honda gets there fighting for podiums.

Whilst I cannot speak on behalf Honda management, but I think replacing Hasegawa with a few others is rather Honda's regular rotation of Engineering staff (knowledge transfer from F1 to other areas of internal business).

Totally true. I have many first hand experience myself. In a typical Japanese firm, common practice is no matter how good you performed in your senior role, you need to move to other roles after a period of time. In our bank, 10 years and you go. Obviously a lot lesser in certain orgs like Honda.
