The headline sounds ridiculous and with F1 Racings utter lack of credibility, we have to assume that it is a baseless rumour. However, parts of it do not sound that absurd. Fiat will certainly sell part of their interest in Ferrari, probably to the public but I could see an outside chance of them putting the paper into the right private hands. It is no secret that ferrari want to have another high-testing budget team on Bridgestones and I'm guessing that the engine deal is related to that.

Dietrich Mateschitz is a complete idiot, of this there can be no doubt. Almost every decision and idea that he has announced has been ridiculed by every sensible F1 fan.

I don't think he is that idiot if you consider he has built a fortune like Red Bull from nothing in less than 10 years...I would like very much to enjoy the same success!!!!Of one thing I'm certain,if I ever will be as rich as Mateschitz I'll certainly buy a F.1 team too!!!! :):P

not gonna happen. I think the fact it's an F1 Racing 'exclusive' makes it lose what miniscule credibility it had.

I think that Rubens Barrichello would find an ideal place to stay in F.1 for at least two more seasons at RBR after his Ferrari contract expires at the end of 2006,since they'll be using Ferrari engines ..it would sound more logical and very much less ridiculous..

I think your criticism of DM is fair and well warranted. You will recall our discussions on the convoluted management structure at RBR and the negative effect this had on the team. Surely that outfit is not a serious racing team, and in fact, they seem to quite keen to let this be known. Even with this in mind, it is still surprising how foolish their decision making and public commentary, particularly from DM who must be singled out for special criticism, this season has been. Everything that I have seen from them and has confirmed my initial suspicions that they are purely and singularly interested in advertising and will not let racing get in the way. This nonsense about Rossi is yet more of the same.

Indeed.
