Alonso One Step Closer To Wc

Recommended Posts

Me too, he has shown tremendous characterover the last 11 races, he's won more than half of the races he's driven in and has beaten Kimi fair and square.

He may even win the title at Spa.

I agree, he drives like Schumey and he is always in the right place at the right time, and has that instinctive knowledge of when to push.

WHAT?! The guy is the flukiest little git I've ever known. THREE of his wins have been inherited after Kimi has retired. Not only that, he has had NO mechanical problems whatsoever, compared to Fisi's 386 failures (roughly). He has driven well but does not deserve to be leading by so much, and does not deserve to be wdc, Kimi does. Its injustice. I hate the way he shakes his fist at minardi drivers just cos he's too lame to lap them properly, and in canada when he was moaning that he was faster than Fisi, yet couldnt overtake him.

No, no, Kimi is by far the better driver and is much more deserving of 2005 wdc, although I now accept that isnt going to happen

This has nothing to do with favouritism at all my friend, I don't give a monkeys about Kimi, in fact I don't like him 1 bit. But my opinion is that he has driven better than anyone this year, and Alonso has been extremely lucky

Absolute rubbish mate - FA is the better all round driver at the moment - KR is just fast in a tunnel vision kind of way - FA has the race craft and intelligence to keep his eye on the ball during a race. He chooses not to get involved in scraps because he knows that to finish first you must first finish.

FA(and JB to a lesser extent) is also a very humble and accessible person - He was at Goodwood signing autographs and taking photos with the fans and he is always prepared to be interviewed for his fans. Contrast that with KR with his monotone voice and lack of enthusiasm for F1 pr - KR is fast but speed alone does not maketh the man.

IMHO

well FA has been lucky yes but he is a very good driver and if he wins the championship ( which i think is in the bag) he deserves credit and so does Renault so for giving him the machinery

and oh, where you been all these days???

FA has driven almost perfectly (I can only recall canada, and nurburgring where he was all over the place and still got a flukey win). But this year should have been a close fight, which should have really included JPM too, its a massive shame that he got that injury and then DSQ in canada. Anyway, where have I been, I've been getting married and having a honeymoon in majorca, which was lovely, but now back to depressing office work

Yes, if Kimi had finished all of those races, I think that He would be pretty much level on points with Alonso, unfortunately, he didn't.

Yes it is entirely mclarens fault (although the nurburgring blowout could have been avoided if kimi didnt make so many lock-ups in the race). I'm just annoyed that FA has had no mechanical failures at all, when his title rival and team-mate have had more than most other drivers. And I'll never truly believe he's all that great because I'll never forget how Trulli kicked his butt at renault in the first half of 2004

Drive like shumi is fine. But don't follow schumi dirty tricks in the past. If alonso did, he would have no friends and leaving plenty of enemies on the tarck. And don't be arrogant and stubborn like schumi. :)
