Recommended Posts

Reminds me of the Benetton/Ligier from 1995 deal.

Anyone know about this?

Ah, Briatore's finest hour......he owned Ligier and also ran Benetton.

Hadn't really thought about that, but there's going to be 4 for 2007 if I am not mistaken - hopefully 1 of them will give me some reason to be cheerful!

at least one is in a top team. all the Germans are sitting at the back of the grid or in a Toyota, hopefully the BMW is good so Nick can at least get us a podium and Kubi show us some more magic. It will be a long time til we hear the German anthem again.

and that reminds me, what would happen if Nick won a race, the German anthem twice? or would it be German and Swiss?

I think BMW Sauber are entered as a German team.

If a German wins in a BMW Sauber they would only play the German National Anthem once, I'm pretty sure anyway.

Hmmmm.....it would be very funny to have them play it twice.....

In 2005 if Minardi won a race what National Anthem would they play. Would it be the Anthem of the country where the factory is based or the Anthem of the owner of the team?

of course they would only play it once, when Hill won for williams or DC won for mclaren they would play the UK anthem once, playing it twice would be ridiculous!

Spyker is another team that is not happy with the current situation of both STR & SAF1 having the potential ability to share chassis with their more competitive "big brothers"

Even the Honda engineers are p!ssed off that SAF1 are preparing to race a RA106 clone in 2007.

I wish :D

F1 Racing have a very good article on this topic in their January edition.

why should they be? After all it was their previous season's car right?

funnier when some one shouts and asks them to stop it midway

but, i still don't get it. Coulthard has won in mclaren several times, does none remember how many times the British anthem was played? (I dont remember it either)

Good news for me as I can now see how Scott Speed does in a Newey/Ferrari. WoOt!

I'm not sure if it's legal, but the FIA will allow it.

It will have a Ferrari engine, all they need to hear to bend the rules for them maybe.

Toro Rosso To Use Adrian Newey Designed Car = So what ? Who cares ?

You do know that Newey is considered to be one of the best car designers in F1 today. He has designed some great cars and should have more constructors championships than he does. Even Newey's slow cars are still competitive which is a very good sign for Red Bull.

I don't know mate, I'm just going off what the article stated.

But you think about it. All that work that you put in all year to develop that car to what it is today and then another team just walks in an races the car the next season, which you know could quite possibly take points off your own new 07 car. I would prob be p!ssed off aswell.

Now the focus will be on the aero development during the season. Will RBR outclass STR in this regard? Probably. Ditto Honda and SA.

Unless Red Bull and Toro Rosso work together in the development of their cars.

Yeah, that might happen. This is one of the items I'll be watching closely.

abbas they are talking about using the 07 spec car in 07 for STR and that is the big debate

There will be slight differences in the chassis because STR and RBR aren't using the same engine, but essentially true.

I've been reading up on this and the whole situation doesn't make sense to me. I understand that the Red Bull company and the F1 team Red Bull Racing are treated as two separate entities. I understand that the Red Bull company isn't bound by the Concorde Agreement and can design a chassis, but what I don't get is why RBR and STR, both signatories to the Concorde Agreement, aren't being held to the most basic philosophy of F1 rule-making...that the chassis must be designed and built by each team in-house. I'm not a lawyer so the fine points are probably lost on me. I'll admit straight-up that I just don't understand how this (and to a lesser degree the Honda/SA situation) can come about.....any great minds care to explain it to me in small words. :D

Yep, that I can understand :D , I just asked why Honda engineers were ranting about SA using their old chassis, which is good enough to be dumped in the ocean, and I got the answer. :D
