These times are all over the shop.

Suppose that we can still geta general idea as to which teammates are coming out on top?

Anyway, no signs of Fisi on these timesheets, i'd rather he wasn't running than getting beaten.

An analyisis from a total ignoramus, based on a bunch of times posted on a forum:

I think we can dismiss the sandbagging factor. I don't think any of the teams is really trying to hide their true potential. The whole aero bit is too complicated to risk not testing it fully on track. The only guys capable of sandbagging usually are the Ferraris (they have Maranello for on track experiments), and if they are sandbagging right now, then this is really scary.

So, Ferrari look strong. They have the speed, certainly. Whether they have/can find the balance for the slower tracks it's a different story. But so far look like the big candidates.

McLaren looks a bit off pace but, like I said, it is not about raw speed. LH might be enough to close the gap, except in tracks like Monza. I think Kovy will be a worthy partner for Lewis, but he has "I am team's Nr.2" written all over his face, even more so than Piquet Jr.

Renault is up there with the McLarens, but then again, we are only watching Nando's times. It's a shame we can't see the other R28, perhaps it would give us a better picture on the R28's actual potential. My guess is that the R28 is much slower than the Ferraris and Maccas, and Nando is just testing the limits. But, with a good race strategy and some talent I think they can fight for 3rd place.

Williams and Toro Rossos next? I don't think this will reflect their real standings come the season. But it lets us hope of an improvement from Williams. Toro Rosso, I couldn't care less about them since Liuzzi left.

BMW, on the contrary, looks slower than they should be. Maybe the BMW screwed up this season? It is possible. Perhaps they are sandbagging, or working heavily on something else than speed. Possible, too. My guess is that they will be up there with the Renaults, but Renaults will have the edge this season.

Toyota, Honda, Force India. The "who-gives-a-tupenny-f**-pack". Red Bull must be having some mechanical problems, as usual. Toyota and Honda seem to be delivering their usually crappy performances with a frightening consistency. Force India does not look too off pace compared to them, that's a good start, considering their limitations. I hope they mop the floor with the Toyotas and Hondas!

(Yeah, this should be in the 2008 predictions thread but there is none yet. And once it appears, don't expect me to do all this wild guessing again)

Nick Heidfeld has stopped again causing a red flag. There seems to be many problems with the BMW today.

It seems like Alonso and Heikki has bumped each other in the pit lane, but is was only a small bump and they both went on with testing.

Almost everyone are now out on track, with 30 minutes left and Ferrari are still topping the time sheets.

Good to see you, Russ! Stay around longer this time, please! The forum tends to decay when certain guys are not around.

As for Lesotho, I am sorry the seterotype, in this case, is true. I'd like to think that there's more to England that people with bad teeth and umbrellas, and that there's more to Southafrica than diamonds and safaris :P , so I was hoping that Lesotho would be more than a hell on earth. What did you went to do there, then, Brad?

We spent Christmas in Maseru, then spent the new year(week and a half) at my sister-in law's smallholding in Maputsu...that was the part of the holiday I enjoyed...

sorry for my delayed reponse Quiet One

no the Quiet One...Ferrari is still sandbagging and not really showing their FULL potential... scary is'nt it  the Kimi era from now onwards will see total domination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <------- and I felt the need to include all these exclamation marks for maximum effect :naughty::naughty:

Yes, the Lesotho stereotype is one that sticks unfortunately even in South Africa, Lesotho is viewed as a very poor country. What draws most people to Lesotho is the natural scenery, so if you are not into that kind of thing it might be somewhat unpleasant.

Where you there during the rain period or was it just hot?

yes, really incredible scenery..... it stopped raining just after Christmas....then got hot

BTW, many thanks for the updates mate
