Argento Reloaded 1 Report post Posted June 1, 2012 jenson... who cares?
Gilles V. 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2012 Jenson is so bad that he might change team if he does not improve soon. The title contenders for WDC this year will need the help of his team mate when things will really heat up. That is why if Massa stays at Ferrari and Button does not improve, I'd give a better chance to Vettel.
Quiet One 15 Report post Posted June 11, 2012 He might take some advise from Massa if he is going to continue performing like this. If we start seeing Jenson spinning by himself with no car or oil on track in miles then we will know he actually did! I cannot help but sympathize with Jenson even if the guy is nowhere in my books of favorite drivers. He seemed to have finally grown a pair last year and improving faster than Lewis and now...if he comes through this nightmarish year at least he should come out stronger. He should not give up, or crumble. I think he is very capable of holding on and fight back.
Massa 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2012 Let's see: Guy wins a grand total of three races in Formula 3 and it's off to F1. He scores points in six races as a rookie and he's the next World Champion. He goes to Benetton and he's a total failure and fluke and will never do anything. Benetton becomes Renault and hey maybe he'll be alright he could win a race at least right? He goes to BAR and nope, he's never going to win a race, what a bust, the biggest on in the history of everything since all of forever even though he actually wasn't all that accomplish or experience prior to F1 but nope, awful, wow, bad, dang. But then he's third in points the next year and now this guy's going to win a race, he's going to, next year he's going to win a race and you know what, BAR's turned the page, I bet Button's going to be a World Champion! Wait? Next year he's ninth? He's going backwards, he only cares about being a celebrity and not a racing driver, he's in this for the money and the fame, what a jerk, he'll never win anything ever. Well the car's a little better in 2006 but Button's just a failure and they said he might never win he's done it Jenson Button wins! And scores the most points of anyone down the stretch there! Honda's going somewhere, Button's figured it out, the wins are going to keep coming, the championship will be his! And now Honda sucks and Barrichello's getting the better of him. Button's time is up. His career's over. He'll never do anything. He was never all that good anyway, I was saying all along he'd never win, and he now he won't. Honda's a joke and Button's a fraud and now Honda's pulling out and believe me, Brawn won't even score a single point... What? They won? Button wins! Again! And again and again! He's the champion! I knew he could do it, I said from day one when he wasn't even a champion in F3 that he'd be an F1 champion, I've told you all along Button would win races and the title! He's done it! He and Brawn will be winning forever... ...and he's going to McLaren? He's only in this for the money! Bailing out on the championship team like that. Oh wait, he's winning, he's beating Hamilton, Hamilton's the failure, Button's the greatest Brit and the greatest driver, and now Hamilton's beating him again, well, I mean, he's a great number two I guess, he's not as bad as I thought he was at least, I mean, remember I thought he was really bad? And now he's good again, he's beating Hamilton, he's the closest competition Vettel's had, boy, if Button had that car, he's the greatest, he was the greatest all along! McLaren built the best car and Button drove a perfect race in Melbourne! The 2012 title is all his! Red Bull and Ferrari are clueless, Vettel's not that good at all, Alonso could never win in that Ferrari, Hamilton's choking from pole, go Button! Oh wait, no, no no no, the season went all wrong, Button's miserable. He needs to leave McLaren and so does Lewis. Button was never any good, ever, I said so, read what I said, I told you many times Button was never all that good and he'll never win and now his career is over and he's the least deserving WDC ever and... SparkNotes: Does Button need help, or do we? I've never seen perception flip-flop on a driver so much. He, like any other driver, needs a good situation to win. He, unlike the absolute elite drivers, has a harder time making a situation better. I think he just needs to settle down, remind himself that he has won this year with these tires and this car, remind himself that he beat Hamilton last year, and just stay cool. Don't go into Valencia saying "we need a good result here because the last few races were awful." Go in saying "we're getting a good result at Valencia because we're going to do well in Valencia." He doesn't need to overthink his own performance, and we don't need to, either.
AleHop 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2012 True, Eric. There are only 3 elite drivers this season an it happens that they're the best ones.

Insider 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 A great commentary, Eric. As I have said elsewhere, the tyre situation is making great drivers and engineers look foolish. People's job and careers are in jeopardy. OK, some drivers are more adaptable than others but we've seen Lewis, Seb and Nando struggling this season too. I think the point a lot of people don't grasp is that it's just not the compound that Pirelli are changing on a race by race basis but the chemical composition of the material too. Every time you put new boots on, you launch into the unknown . It's a total punt. The data from the last race is virtually useless. You think a team is improving - it isn't - it just got lucky on the day. If I was spending $300-400 million dollars a year as a race team with top line sponsors funding the lion's share, I would be getting pretty angry by now. I will be surprised if one of more of them threaten to quit. Some of them may have too.
HandyNZL 1 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 They're not going to quit - 8 teams have already signed up to the pre-nup Concorde agreement. Non-story..move along, Sirs.
Gilles V. 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 Of course Button, can be back. He is a world F1 champion and in my book amongst the top 5 drivers. What happens to him is unexplainable. May be serious personnal problems. I do not believ it is the tires, since he has always been amongst the drivers who could save them during a race. I do hope he can be back soon, because whe crunch time arrive, his team will need him badly.
HandyNZL 1 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 Button is just in a blip...he'll bounce back, and challenge for podiums and wins again. He has the car. The team is strong. Some weekends just don't go your way.
