Hamilton Making Me A Believer

McLaren prospect Lewis Hamilton dominated Friday’s GP2 qualifying session at Monaco, surging to pole position.
The 21-year-old Briton is rumoured to be in contention for a seat alongside Fernando Alonso at the Woking squad in 2007 and did his chances no harm with an imperious performance on the tricky street circuit.
Hamilton is currently second in the GP2 standings, two points behind Nelson Piquet junior, and has impressed the Formula 1 paddock with his driving in the feeder series so far in 2006.
His time of 1m20.430s was more than two tenths quicker than his closest challenger and puts him in a strong position to win Saturday’s first race.

I don't see two-tenths as 'dominating' but certainly his stock has raised by this. For me, Monaco has always been one of the 'yardsticks' to guage a driver against. This bodes well for him.

"Do you really think I would be here if it was just about money?" Raikkonen hit back. "I do enough fun things in my spare time than to have to listen to this bullsh*t."
"There is always a lot of talk about the motivation but nobody really knows what I do or what I think except for myself, so I don't really care about what people say."
"There's always talk about my motivation, written by people who don't know me and couldn't have an idea on how strong my motivation is. If I didn't feel I had the motivation, I would stop. My feeling is that I probably drove some of my best races in my last season in Formula One and I was very happy with my performance. I've never had any issues with motivation."

Yep. Apparently, Darth Dennis took him on as his apprentice when he was 11. Taken by the dark side at 11, poor kid

In all honesty even Rosberg has been quite average when taking his first 7 GPs into account. GP2 is NOT F1!!!

ART Grand Prix's Lewis Hamilton doubled over home fans in Silverstone, winning the sprint race on Sunday ahead of Felix Porteiro (Campus Racing) and compatriot Adam Carroll (Racing Engineering) to take both races of the Great Britain GP2 weekend and move into a commanding 24 point championship lead.
This guy is the next best thing and would be wasted as a test driver.

well, first of all Mclaren is not 1 driver team like Renault. That means, Hamilton doesn't have to try to adapt to Alonso's awkward race setups like Fisico in Renault. So, I am sure it will be ok for Hamilton.

Barrichello didn't complain

Fisichella doesn't complain
if they would complain, they would be kicked out

Another driver to impress me was Caroll. He did well.
As did good 'ole Pantano. I always liked his style at Jordan. He slid that car around like it was a '60's era machine.
In the end it was Hamilton that kept me watching. Get this boy in F1 fast!

Barrichello did complain. Endlessly, especially if you ever heard waht he used to say to the Brazilian media. Fisi does complain, and justifiably most of the time.

"You just don't mess with Jacques Villeneuve" - Murray Walker, 1997 Hungarian GP.
"When Jacques was with us, he was a very aggressive driver, fiercely competitive, mentally hard as nails. Very quick with it, very gifted. A bright fellow, undoubtedly, very intelligent. He was an absolutely born racing driver - look at the way he'd bang wheels with Michael, pass people on the outside, that kind of thing" -Sir Frank Williams on Jacques Villeneuve
"This year, with BMW, JV's going very well, and I'm pleased for him. Whether or not he'll get a drive next year I don't know, but I hope he does, he's an unusual, and very strong addition to the F1 community. A character." - Sir Frank Williams again on Jacques Villeneuve
The Nojvnof1 2006 driver lineup - Jacques Villeneuve, Nico Rosberg, Christian Klein, Scott Speed.
