Sir Jackie Stewart has claimed world motorsport bosses are biased towards Ferrari in the McLaren 'spygate' row.
McLaren go before the World Motor Sport Council in Paris on Thursday amid claims that new evidence could lead to Ron Dennis's team being punished.

But Stewart accused F1's governing body of mounting a "witch-hunt" against Dennis which would backfire on them.

"It seems some of the most powerful people (in F1) are more aligned to Ferrari than anybody else," he said.

"The FIA have historically been very close to Ferrari, closer to them than anyone else.

"There are more Ferrari representatives on the World Council than anybody else."

There's been a transfer of information going on since 1950, when modern Formula One began

Sir Jackie Stewart

Ferrari have accused McLaren of benefiting from a 780-page dossier of information sent by former performance director Nigel Stepney to McLaren's now-suspended chief designer Mike Coughlan.

Three-time world champion Stewart added: "I'm not saying that there hasn't been wrongdoing.

"But to start witch-hunting and trying to implicate a team principal (Dennis) to a level that is currently going on, I think is negative to the sport."

You hit the nail right on the head there Mr Jackie Stewart.... don't implicate the team principal to that level.... but justice must done, if there's any wrongdoing done by the team, they must be punished. Thanks for the article cristiano84 :D

We keep on working, we do our thing, Vettel shouts over the team radio,We are who we are!

"Vettel is a champion. That’s not referring to his achievements, but rather to his approach to everything he does. He wins. All the time. His preparation is meticulous, his attention to detail reminiscent of Michael Schumacher at his peak, and his performance on the track is almost always flawless. Vettel is capable only of domination. He knows no other way... Vettel is not in Formula One to be liked. He is there to win. And in the words of Ayrton Senna, perhaps the greatest of all Formula One drivers, “Nice men don’t win.”"

How can FIA allow this to happen? Maybe Jackie Steward is wrong.

Boo hoo.  Their lives must be sooo tough.  I feel so sympathetic for Briatore and Alonso.  Poor, starving, blue collar manual laborers out on the street corner with no money for food, and then big bad Ferrari just ruins their lives.  It must suck to be World Champions...

Yeah, Renault got some unfair penalties, but it was to tighten the points battle, I'm sure if it was Kimi Raikkonen's McLaren that far out, they would've done the same.  It's contrived entertainment.  Deal with it.  Just coincidence.

If the FIA really wanted Ferrari to win in 06, Ferrari would've.  But they didn't.

Awww....it's sooo sad...this world is just too cruel...let's end our lives right now so we dont have to go through the pain... :(

Ferrari didn't win because Schumacher broke down in Japan and certainly the FIA couldn't have helped him

Poor guy, do you still believe in coincidence? Do you know how many MILLIONS OF DOLLARS do Ferrari bring to F.1 every year thanks to TV deals?!?! This is the real world. It sucks because money are everything but F.1 is nowhere near outside of it.

But if the FIA were as extreme as you portray them to be, they would've like found some random reason to fine Fernando 14 points so Michael won.

Stewart better have "URL's pointing to credible sources" or the eager beavers in the forum will accuse him of slander... which, naturally, is quite amusing.

Anyway, what else is new. FIA is corrupt to the core and, based on what we've seen of late, run by a demented bunch, orgies notwithstanding.

And so, it is hilarious when you hear of those "fans" that still trust the integrity of Whiting, Mosley, Ecclestone or the decisions of stewards, appeal courts, technical boards. It's all a sham, a scam, one day to "level" the field, the next to favour a particular driver or team, another to fill someone's pockets. FIA meddled, meddles, and will meddle.

As a competition, F1 is a joke.

What's left is seeing cars race for the heck of it. I settle for that, considering.
I walk.

Perhaps this is trying to prove that the resignation of Dennis should have no bearing on the forthcoming FIA hearing.
