What about M Schumacher? You're criticising mclaren for not being equal, but then you also criticise them for not backing Alonso in 2007, so you're contradicting yourself.

I suppose you only understand "backing" as having a team at your feet like Hamilton does.

I understand "backing" as, for example, not have your teamboss racing against you.

And the reason Hamilton 'walked' into a top team was because they saw a special talent and they were right. They were confident that he didnt even need a year as a test driver, and they were right.

Lewis dominated the F3 Euroseries then won GP2 in his first ever season, so I dont know what you're on about.

Indeed. Hamilton is the only driver to ever have accomplised anything before walking into F1.

Alternatively, those drivers that have accomplised anything before F1 _all_ get #1 status and a top drive.

Granted, Ron does want to lick his bum, but Lewis has become WDC thanks to many other things, mainly the hard work of him & his family, plus his obvious talent as a driver. McLaren didnt screw Alonso, they just ignored his stupid pleas to be the 'number 1 driver'.

Stupid indeed when Hamilton clearly has that status.

But, you are right, RD wanting "to lick (Hamilton's) bum" implies nothing regarding favoritism. We saw this year _too_ how equality works in McLaren and who benefits from it.

The championship was won over the course of 18 races, silly billy.

The championship was lost three laps to the end on skill before a lucky break in the weather give it back.

By your account, Massa won the WDC too.

How many races did Alonso win in 2005 compared to Kimi? Thats the only other season that springs to mind. Kimi was usually the better driver but kept getting screwed by unreliability and grid penalties.

Kimi is the best driver in the grid, in my opinion. Nontheless, only you believe that Alonso won less races than Kimi in 2005.

hmm - what did I ask last post?

oh let's just see that shall we...

what's that? oh you haven't quoted any of my posts making those claims that you say I made? hmm - wonder why.

how about this... did I "demand that you write, one more time, what have said over 20 times already" - oh hang on - I can't find where I wrote that - can you help me? no? you can't? ah - that'll be because I didn't write that either.

come on maure - where did I say it? where did I say the previous comments you attributed to me? - quote me - go on - if I said it it must be easy to find the quote - where did I say Hamilton's deserved the good fortune of the last lap rain? where? - all the posts are here - I asked you to quote it and you haven't because you can't. the evidence that you are lying is staring you in the face yet you keep it up - it's beyond pitiful.

Okay I'll just quote myself again shall I...

got it yet? nope? I didn't think so.

When did I ever disagree with this? You've confused yourself utterly - you've possibly started believing the argument you've made up for me. What I said is listed above - does it disagree? Can you find any post of mine in this whole thread that disagrees with you on this? no? you can't? what a surprise - there's a patern emerging here - can you guess what is is yet?

And finally (again quoting my last post)

Did you manage either of those simple tasks?

no? - you didn't?

so what's left Maure? just more Sh#t.

Here's one many many many reasons why I say that... (notice I can quote)

You said:

In reply, I quoted your post and said:

You didn't. You can't. You're making it up. That's what I call speaking absolute, grade A, Sh#t. ;)

Goodbye (on this thread) - I have far more entertaining things to do than listen to you making stuff up and attributing it to me or writing posts which you witlessly avoid comprehending. I think I'll go and pull some teeth laughs.

It's been a riot - no really - hilarious - I'm not ripping the p**s at all - honest.

Geez man, you are completely derranged.

I want to humour you, honest, but you make no sense at all.

Let's take it step by step and perhaps you will be able to explain whatever it is that you are trying to explain.

First off, the basis.

You say you don't care who won and so do I. Can you accept that? Yes or no.

If no, there is no point going on. You will continue to flip out and, honestly, it is boring. Murray does this far better than you.

If yes, explain whatever point you want to make in one concise parragraph. A few sentences most.

I didnt say that, I asked how many races they'd won, I genuinely dont know the answer - its a question open to all!

Please provide an example of Kovalainen not being treated equally this year. Kovy seems pretty happy to me.

I'm not going to argue with you about how the championship was won any more, because it seems useless. You're only thinking about 1 lap, not 18 races. This is why so many people keep disagreeing with you.

Bernie Ecclestone agrees with me (& all the other 'leweristics'). See www.bbc.co.uk/sport

If you don't know, why bring that particular season up?

Please provide an example of Kovalainen not being treated equally this year. Kovy seems pretty happy to me.

In most if not all qualifications, Kova was forced to drive a heavier car, for example.

And, yes, Kova must be delighted with his 7th position in the championship. Imagine the happiness of having lost to a Renault.

And many other people agree.

The ones that disagree on that point, do it because (like you) they don't want to talk about what happened in Brazil. Personally, I don't see why the topic is taboo but, then again, I am not into heroworshipping, I just care about racing.

He agrees that Lewis was the deserving champion. I brought up 2005 because, as I said previously, its the only season that springs to mind - I'm interested to know how many races Alonso & Kimi won cos I know Kimi won several. My guess is that they both won 6.

Kovalainen has never hinted at any discontent all season. You're right about the fuel loads. Coming 7th in the championship is his own fault for consistently underperforming.

About the Brazilian GP - your point is that Hamilton choked. My view is this: Lewis underperformed, the whole McLaren team underperformed that weekend, and he should've finished higher than 5th. But to say that he won the championship by luck is just simply ridiculous.

You could just as easily say that he was unlucky not to have already won the title before coming into Brazil. For example, if Kimi's engine didnt falter in France, Massa would've stayed 2nd, and Vettel passing Lewis in Brazil would mean nothing cos Lewis would've only needed to finish 8th anyway.

And dont forget Massa was very, very, very lucky to inherit the Belgium GP victory through no skill of his own at all, and the free point he got for Bourdais' penalty at Fuji.

So to round up and end the thread: Lewis underperformed at Brazil but is a worthy world champion thanks to his overall performance over the course of the 18 races. The end.

Lewis was amazing in Brazil, which was the best race of all time. He was told to let Vettel through. He passed Glock on pure skill. Ron loves Heikki just as much as Lewis.

Sorry, but we are talking about the actual race, not the Steven Spielberg's film based on the race. :P

Then Eccleston agrees with me too. Hamilton is as (un)deserving as Massa would've been.

Kova's predicament in qualifying is but an example of what he's got to deal with. After all, qualifying pretty much decides many races. If he gets fcked there, what are they not doing to him that we don't get to see.

The issue with Brazil is simple. Three laps to the end, Hamilton lost a position because he made a mistake and run wide. If it had not started raining again in the last lap, Glock would've not been slowed down as much and Massa would be WDC. If that had happened, I would be right here saying that Massa got lucky becuase when it did rain, it didn't rain hard enough. However, what I could not say is that, through fault of his own, the WDC was won or lost.

Massa's or Hamilton's predicament elsewher other than those three laps are irrelevant to those three laps since by the time those three laps where being raced all that happened before had already happened. After all, Hamilton (or Massa) could've been WDC come Brazil and whatever happened in Brazil would matter nothing. It did and what hapenned was decisive to the WDC.

And your last point. Underperforming. I don't see that. I think Hamilton performed well... except when it mattered most. The same could be said of last season. One thing (the choking at critical times) does not imply that he sucks as a driver or that what he did during the season had no merit... when it did.

All I can say about your insulting is that I haven't lied. What for. I just haven't read your long posts or, rather, I start reading them but my attention wanders out of boredom. So either you explain your point with a few words or keep barking insults. Your call.

I guess the pressure was too much for him, like last year. But fortunately he'd done enough over the course of the season to give himself the luxury of only needing 5th place. The end (again).

i think it should be remembered that a certain M Schumacher also 'choked' on several occasions when the pressure was truly on, and many consider him to be the greatest of all time. So I dont think anything should be taken away from Lewis's achievement.

Yep.

In all truth, the pressure and choking are the simplest explanations for Hamilton's error. There could be others and several posters have explored this. However, they've had no success. All exculpatory theories have too many problems.

At the time of the race and when this thread started, I was more given to the idea that Vettel had truly outdone himself. But, thinking it over, Hamilton's mistake really made it easy. Of course, Vettel had to be there and then pull away with an inferior car so he's driving definitely got merit... just a little less so than I first thought.
