Emmcee 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2016 If next season is as much about aero everyone has been carrying on about, then redbull will be the team to beat followed by Mercedes and a close third between Ferrari and mclaren.
Sakae 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Here we go again. What to expect? More of the same, says Symonds. Come March, we will be paying premium prices to watch cars that aren't ready to race. Some people of F1 must obviously think that their customers are bunch of village idiots, because we always come back for more.

Unknown? 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 Quick yes or no.. Do you guys think the racing will be closer (therefore better) next year?
Sakae 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 Racing is already close, so there is no Yes or No to vote on. Next year it might be RBR instead Mercedes in the front. Ferrari will start as a team #3. I am not too optimistic that core issues related to difficulties with overtaking has been actually addressed by these new regulations.
Unknown? 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 The racing isn't close.. Mercedes (as of right now) are capable of winning every single race. 2012 (I think?!) was close with 7 different winners in the first 7 gp! OK yes issues like reliability creep into it but compare that to what we have now.. I fear next season will provide us with one team who ace the regulations and leave us with a similar (if not as) one-sided championship as recent times. I don't think the core issues have been addressed at all and I fear more processional races. Overtaking without DRS is so difficult even a class-of-the-field Mercedes struggles to fire passed a midfield team without much fresher tires and/or DRS. I'm excited to see faster cars but worried we'll see much of the same of recent reg. changes which resulted in more reg. changes - poor racing, difficult overtaking. Frustrating. Sakae 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 Yes, I agree that Mercedes is slightly ahead, but in a few months we will be talking aero, and not about delta in HP, at least I think so. Problem however remains, that cars cannot follow each other for too long. List of objections is long and boring. Other than FiA, FOM and Teams, rest of us we all know those well, as we repeating them again and again, year after year, and no one listens.

Sakae 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2017 Good start in 2017. HNY, and please continue with a few more of such lovely ideas.
Unknown? 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2017 Easy to say but let's not forget the reason we have DRS in the first place.. it's nearly impossible to overtake without it.. The cars need to be able to follow each other.
Sakae 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2017 Not only I am doubtful that DRS system has improved the show, but I also think mere existence of such system is indirectly responsible for lazy thinking in direction of finding better solutions.
radical-one 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2017 It's lame "overtaking" and makes the driver lazy to race properly.
