Williams Second Seat

Williams decision soon

Antonio Pizzonia will stay at Williams as 'Friday' test driver next year if he is not given the nod to race full time. With Nico Rosberg looking favourite to slide into the seat alongside Mark Webber, Brazilian Pizzonia's race performances while substituting for Nick Heidfeld do not appear to have bolstered his hopes for the drive. 25-year-old 'Jungle Boy' said: ''I was quite confident last year and this year I am not really thinking about it. I think they will make a decision - if it is not already made - soon. I have been with the team for a long time so they know what I can do.''

20-year-old GP2 champion Rosberg, meanwhile, admitted to 'ITV' that he is probably not 100 per cent ready at the moment to make his grand prix debut. The German born son of Williams' 1982 champion, Keke Rosberg, insisted: ''But after a winter's testing I would be (ready), definitely.''

According to Nico Rosberg the seat is evaluated between himself, Pizzonia and another driver. Now who's that mysterious driver?? I can only see Fisi and Davidson as legitimate candidate...........

Nico rosberg is god

Poor NH being outed by another fin? ;)

Anyways i agree they should pick NR over Pizzonia because Pizzonia cant really deliver and NR is good to have for future as well so making long contract would be good.

I wonder who this 'other driver is'. I hope Rosberg gets the drive, and shuts Webber's trap up.

Nico's German.

Actually he has both options available to him -- i consider him more finnish than german mostly i guess due to his father who is first finnish world champion :P

And it was more about the typo (i think it was typo) as you stated Rosberg is god (i guess you wanted to say good) ;)

I know its nitpicking, but i was bored and noone notices when i post something relevant anyways :P

There is a connection between Fisi and Frank, but I can't recall what it is. Something to do with Webber. One of our more knowledgable members may be able to help?

Didn't Williams say some of his sponsorship deals were dependant on a Brit driving for him? I think Fisichella is still going to be at Renault next year. i would guess the mystery driver to be Davidson, but a couple from the left field here: Dan Wheldon - Has he confirmed his IRL seat for next year? Williams has a history of bringing IRL champions over to F1 and this one is a Brit - a sponsorship bonus. Another option I would consider is Lewis Hamilton. The guy obliterated Formula 3 this year and the drivers who have done this in the past usually make the jump straight to F1 (Mika H, Jenson etc) now young Lewis has a McLaren contract, but McLaren don't have a race seat for him, and the status of their B team is still undecided, so now Williams have fallen out with great Mercades rival BMW, would it not be wise for Ron Dennis to let Lewis race a season or two for Williams Cosworth before drafting him into McLaren when a vacancy happens? I think it is possible.

Some interesting thoughts there. I suppose Wheldon and Davidson are possibilities, but I would think that Hamilton will be a tester first. I've remembered the Fisi/Williams connection, it was just a contract juggling situation with Flavio.

Well, nico speaks no finnish, he contested the gp2 series as a german (hence the german flag next to his name in my signature) but yes, he is half finnish, half german, however, it's racing nationality which counts ;) . no typo, I did mean to say god, nico rosberg IS god.

Sorry, but Williams will rather prefer to disappear than be a Mclaren "B" Team... Webber and Rosberg with Albers as a tester is the best option i can see.
