OK i didnt count DNF's or DSQ's in this.

Button went backwards in 7 out of 12 races. So he went backwards in 58% of races.

Webber went backwards in 4 out of 13 races. So he went backwards in 31% of races.

Im not saying that Webber is better than Button. In reality i think they are very simular in ability, after all Webber scored 36 points and Button scored 37. I suppose it comes down to what car do you think was better, the williams or BAR.

again you come up with an unfair comparison of points .button did not compete in 2 races and had a 3rd place finish which was also not counted so button scores more pts than webber even though he only competed in 16 out of the 19 races!!!! and i have no reason to believe that the 007 was any better than fw27

The williams was far better than the BAR up until Imola, then BAR were disqualified and banned for two races meaning button missed out on a further possible 20 points! The williams was far worse than the bar during the mid season, however i feel that by monza the fw27 had a slight edge! MW only went backwards less cos he qualified much lower whereas JB had consistently qualified in the top 8, and a few times in the top 4

How many times did Webber get hit out right at the start? I believe both Button and Webber did something that could account as all their fault which put the end to 1 of their races.

Webber was driving injured for quite some time, so he did a good job, especially continuing to drive in the temperatures he did which burnt his hip.

If you are going to say "you forget this little factor" then you have to look at all the little factors, which add up to about even for both drivers.

So it is fair to say neither driver has been considerable better than other this year.

Button looked brilliant in a few races as did Webber, Webber looked poor in a few races as did Button.

The facts show you can not compare Sato as a good team mate, because he quite clearly in all areas almost is not cut out to be an F1 driver.

I am saying THIS year, yes THIS year, there is nothing to choose between them.

Get off your Button high horse and realise I am a fan of his and don't jump to the conclusion that I think Webber is better just because of one year I say they were even.

If you rate JB higher than MW it seems strange to say there was nothing between them this year just because Button didn't have a good team mate. Most of us would surely rate JB above NH and MW. Given that NH beat MW and the consensus that JB would beat NH it seems more sensible to say that JB probably performed better than MW this year as in all others.

Where did you get the idea that it was just because of that? I have said many different reasons in this thread that was just the latest reasoning I used. This year I have been disappointed with Jenson and at the start of the year so too with Mark, but he has upped his game, whereas Jenson seemed to slip back.

Actually I was thinking just that about Mark's teammates! Are you suggesting that Ralf and Fisi are better than JV or Trulli? In any case MW probably had preferential treatment at Jaguar. Even AP managed to show him up recently!
