Wrong attitude chaps. More cars on the grid equals better racing, and demonstrates that F1 is recovering from the follies of the 90s where teams were falling away, not joining up.

Celebrate SA's commendable sportsmanslike attitude towards racing and grant that this is clearly intended only as a learning year for them and not a competitive one. The Arrows chassis is the only realistic solution for the team, given the current F1 rules regarding Intellectual Property and the requirement that each team design and build its own chassis.

I hope that they stay with it and survive this first difficult year. Its better for F1 if they do.

This team was doomed from the moment they formed with the sole ambition of keeping Sato in F1. Things must really be desperate if they want what will be 5 year old cars next year. It's sad, as I'm all for new teams and the like, but not if it means keeping Sato in the sport.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying, but pay drivers have always been a part of modern F1, and Sato is not likely the last pay driver we'll have to watch - but he is probably the best Japanese pay driver we've seen yet (and definitely the one with the best career points tally).

It's not the fact he's a pay driver, but the fact he's been given a plum ride for the past two years. He did OK in '04 but was a disgrace this year, yet Honda see it fit to start a whole new team with the sole purpose of keeping him in F1. I know that this decision was made to keep the customers in Japan happy, as at the end of the day it's all about money and selling cars, but Sato proved his ineptness over and over again this year, yet other more deserving drivers have to go through all sorts just to get a seat with a bottom ranked team!

+Arrows raced with crossworth FORD engines. Aguri will b havin HONDA engines...which definitely will be better than the crossworths!

i read some1 sayin that arrows were always aerodynamically efficient. if thats true then with BETTER ENGINES, better aerodynamics, +developing the arrows cars which they bought, they might beat midland!

or atleast do wat MINARDI did to Midland.

i have no idea abt which Engine will b better!

Honda Engine on SUPER AGURI

or TOYOTA Engine on Midland!

The engine is a stressed member in an F1 car, and by changing from cossie to honda will be a task in itself i would imagine, as it could totally change the handling characteristics of the car.....I think it will be a dog to drive but i think its just a temporary fix to get them on the grid til they develop their own chassis

i think it's great that super aguri are in f1. why you would celebrate the failure of any team is beyond me. oh wait, i celebrated in ferrari's relative failure this year  but still fellas, you're likely to see ant davidson in an f1 car next year thanks to this aguri chap and honda. surely that's something to celebrate other than their eagerly-anticipated failure??

some people are so negative and enjoy other's failures  makes me think of schadenfraud (spelling?) maybe shaun you can help me out here

Sato was looking towards Midland when Super Aguri team contacted him. So,I hope Super Aguri was initiated independently.

Honda recommended Sato as a reciprocal for Honda engine supply. Aguri heeded as it is makes business sense.

I predict that they won't even make it to the end of the season. Its good for f1 to have more teams but I think the days of ex-drivers starting privateer teams are gone. These days you have to have a huge budget just to stand a chance, and super aguri dont seem to have much of a budget at all

I hope they at least survive Qualification, not like Lola in 97
