What are you thoughs on how jb and rb will go in 2006?

Its too hard to say. Both RB and Button have had unusal teammates so its hard to judge them on raw talent. All i know is that it is going to be very close between them in 2006 but i have my doubts about the new Honda.

I suspect it will be a close battle but that Jenson will triumph. Jenson has had plenty of strong team-mates, apart from Michael Schumacher, Rubens has not had a strong test within his own team.

My money is on RB. I think he will be much quicker than JB, given equal cars, and I predict him to be up on the points table over his team mate

I'm very confident that JB will have the upper hand. When JB is on it he looks awesome and doesnt look like he could possibly go any faster. He drives consistently whilst RB seems to have good days and bad days. Also, JB will be pushed harder and so will extract even more out of himself

Sadly I must agree with those of you who believes that JB will have the edge on RB. I still dream of RB giving JB a hiding though.

True enough, but I was thinking more that if Rubens perceives his position to be on a less than equal footing with Jenson then we may see his fragility show through.

I agree that Jenson is not the type to engage in mind games, but Messrs de Ferran and Fry are Buttonites through and through, and such favouritism may destabilise Rubens, even if such a thing is unintended.

Nonetheless, I expect Rubinho to give Jenson a wake up call in the early part of the season, even though he will ultimately finish behind him in the championship standings.

I think RB's experience will out perform JB's youthful exuberance, but I think it will be close.

Indeed, and for two simple reasons

1. Button is not as good as M. Schumacher

2. Button does not get as much preferential treatment as M. Schumacher

These are good drivers but none of them are great drivers. Trulli has never been fast in races, Villeneuve was fast but that was a long time ago, Ralf is only in F1 because of his brother and Fisichella got smashed by Alonso this season. I admit that these are good drivers but beating them is hardly a major accomplishment and doesnt prove that Button will beat RB.

I agree that Buttons competition has not been of the most talented (except Villeneuve who for some reason can't get his act together), but I still believe that JB will just edge out RB. It would be fantastic though if RB blew him (Button) out to sea (where he belongs).
