Button And Rb

Recommended Posts

 at f1 fanatic

i think jb should come through in the end due to his experience working with honda and the stimulus of being pushed by reubens.

rb shouldn't have too much trouble fitting in though as his mate de ferran should ensure he is treated equally. rb will still feel lonely though and the guy needs love. if he starts well it will be a different story.

I think its pretty clear that RB & JB will get equal treatment. If RB doesnt start well he could quickly lose motivation, having been in f1 for about 12/13 years now and JB could end up walking all over him. Its hard to tell but either way I cant see Jense getting beaten overall by RB

These are good drivers but none of them are great drivers. Trulli has never been fast in races, Villeneuve was fast but that was a long time ago, Ralf is only in F1 because of his brother and Fisichella got smashed by Alonso this season. I admit that these are good drivers but beating them is hardly a major accomplishment and doesnt prove that Button will beat RB.

No one is trying to argue that the aforementioned drivers are

Rubinho is a good driver but no better than the 03 spec JV or JT so I think JB will beat him but it won't be easy. Also JB is nearing his peak whereas RB will be 34 next season and must adjust to a new team.

For me I believe Button will beat Rubens next season but not as easily as one might think!

I expect Button to trounce Barrichello in the early part of the season before RB finally gets his act together for the 2nd half when we will see close battles.

If Button beats Barrichello by a big margin I will be as much shocked as I am impressed. I don't believe this feat to be impossible either.

Jacques was competitive in 2003 and the BAR team completely revolved around him,

Not in 2003 it didn't.

On the topic at hand, Button should edge Rubens, but it will be very close. Having said that, I hope Rubens beats JB so this myth that Button is so great can be well and truly buried ;)

Not going to happen sorry! Button is great and you will all finally start believing next year when no-one can say his team-mate makes him look good

I don't think so. If he smashes Rubens people will give him the respect he then deserves. Until he does he's up for unrestricted slanter. :P

Lets hope so!

I thought he'd get the respect he deserved after seeing Villeneuve off but he never. For Jenson to beat JV when JV was clearly using mind games from the word go suggested to me that he is strong mentally.

IMO both drivers didn't have the best of seasons in 2005, which puts them (baring in mind I know Rubens has won races and Jenson hasn't) the same level.

They both hold advantages.

Barrichello's being he has raced at Ferrari since 2000, having a team mate like Michael Schumacher must teach you the perks and tricks of the trade.

Button's advantage comes with being with Honda since 2003. He knows the team better than Rubens. He knows the engine/car a little better too.

It'll be fun watching!
