Testing Thread

Recommended Posts

Just a general word to the moderators. Having one thread for testing for the entire off season seems, to put it mildly just a bit stupid. It already has 14 pages and 409 messages, which is a very inefficient way of posting information and discussions. If someone for example, wants to discuss testing for a particular day, he has to go through the entire thread looking for the information.

Better to split it up at least every two days or every three day block of testing results.....

this is ridiculous

how does a thread having 409 messages make the thread inefficient . it takes the same time to make a post.and pinning it makes it efficient, and no one can claim that he/she did not notice a thread already existed, any way it aids in maintaining continuity, why does anyone want to start a thread everyday(or 2 days).infact in novenmber i observed that every day times were posted in a different thread and there were jst 3/4 messages in each thread

anyway who said you have to gothrough 14 pages to discuss any day's testing,u can directly go to the last page or last post made ,and discuss it

u will have a problem only if u want to search and discuss testing held on 15th dec or 10th jan(or any other random day in particular) anyway noone is going to discuss that today

we could break it up into weeks. like week of Jan 30, week of Feb 6 etc.

thoughts? lumping the threads in one place has been much better than having random threads for every day and every team...

place thoughts here and we can maybe post a poll.

to be honest i quite like it all in one place, it's like an ongoing discussion about the whole testing offseason.

I have a lot of power on this forum, as I am the 3rd most posted user, thus i have a very valued opinion :P:lol::naughty:

I reckon it should be left as it is, its good that its all in one place and if u keep up2 date with the thread it makes a lotta sense! leave it alone!

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day

But it's still very early where I am and you know what? politicians talk a lot but there's a lot of hot air that comes out of them, no matter how smart they are

cheers!

Leave it in one thread... what's the point in splitting it up? Stop being so lazy.

I agree on this, leave as one thread................

This is fine, but I think a weekly thread or a thread for each venue would be better.

i.e Velencia. All the times would then be relevent to the track.

not necessary.

anyway if teams test at a track, they do it for a couple of weeks .so there is continuity

The suggestion is not ridiculous, but your language is, you sound like a kid from junior school. The idea was made because there are people on this forum who cannot log in every day, sometimes for two - three days or even a week at a stretch, but who might still like to discuss testing on various days.

Not everyone can be online all the time, or check the forum every day. Still appeal to the moderator to split it up on a weekly basis.

And obviously you know nothing about data structuring, hence your statement "how does a thread having 409 messages make the thread inefficient". Of course it does. Data that cannot be stored efficiently makes retrieval and analysis very difficult. Just try arranging all your word documents, irrespective of subject or type in one folder. When it crosses fifty you will be struggling to manage your files, as opposed to if you had seperated them subject wise. Please think before you type or you will get keyboard in the mouth disease (which I suspect you already have)

this is precisely the language used by high school kids, dont spill words ,bcoz of the "INtewrnet anonymity" u possibly cant know who the other person is :P ,my post made sense.if only you could make sense out of it

If there is a weekly thread, still it will take a member the same time to browse through pg1,2,3 as it would take for him to browse through pg 17,18,19(if he/she logs on after a few days )

*sigh*

If someone were to make a thread called "Valencia testing (because the other thread is getting too big)", I am sure no one would have locked it. All this is a teeny weeny bit pointless.

who said, the pages are not arranged, each "webpage " in the thread has a limit to messages ,and takes the same time to download on your PC.obviously ur half baked theories and wrong notions are to blame..or is your "board setting" not in default mode, and all messages are displayed in one page

i see,u have given a name to the symptoms you have been showing
