Schumacher's Entertainment

Recommended Posts

Yes. Michael Schumacher is well known for wanting the fans to be entertained. It was so entertaining to see him win everything in 2004 and watching him not giving a Sh#t that he had made F1 boring. In Michael Schumacher's opinion nothing is more important than winning, not even the fans who he claims to want to entertain.

Thats harsh, what did you want MS to do, slow down and not win when he clearly had the best car?? If I'm not mistaken winning is what this sport we love is all about.

Indeed. I was sad that MS said this only because he should not be worrying about us fans being entertained. He should just drive balls out and we, the lovers of Formula 1, will find the entertainment; It need not be manufactured for us.

And I assure you, that is the most entertaining thing in the world to watch :)

I think he meant entertaining for him. Most drivers on the circuit race only for the thrill of it. These people can't be so bloody good if it wasnt a thrill ride!

No, I'm pretty sure he was referring to entertaining us fans. Agreed on the rest, though.

I think MS meant entertaining as in both the spectators watching him while he battle with FA for victory.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't think MS made F1 boring. As a driver what do you want to do? Win right! If you were him, what would you do after you win 5 straight races? What sit back and let other win when you know you can blow the rest of the field away.

This year FA and the Renault is running away with the victories and $hit, why don't you blame the FA and the Renault for making F1 boring.

To me, it's the FIA that made F1 boring. What with all of these 2 race per engine, change of aero, V8 rules. F1 isn't much of F1 anymore. It's like a mixture of GP2 and Cart.

Yeah i very much agree with the above user. Anyways, let us not point fingers at each other but must remember, all the controversies schumacher creates is very entertaining and keeps the sport going. Just remove Schumacher from formula 1 and you will just see cars going round and round and round and the sport overall becomes plain. Since Schumacher is in the sport, alot of the drivers hate him, maybe because he just outsmarts them and every race is entertaining when he is in there to me. Those year 2004 and 2003 or whatever was plain ferrari domination, there was no car good enough to compete with the ferrari and maybe thats why it wasnt so entertaining for you. I could as well remove plenty of faults from other drivers in terms of entertainment, name me some drivers and i will do so. It's just best if we just remain mature with our opinions.

Actually I am enjoying this season more than any F1 season in the past. Its great to see Schumi drive so well. Given the gap between Renault and Ferrari, Schumi is bringing up some of his best driving ever. There are still 9 races left. If Alonso retires in a couple of races, and MS grabs victories it would make for an exciting season finale. I rate Schumi's performance this year to be some of his best! To add to that my other Fav JV is having a career revival. After see him fade away so miserably in the BAR years (curse that team!), its great to see JV getting some decent performance....

Call it wishful thinking, but if BMW retain JV and make great strides in performance for the next year....we could see a MS-JV clash in 2007, 10 years after 1997. Add Kimi to the mix and it would be fabulous. Ofcourse Alonso will be there as well.....

As with the FIA, a lot of people like to give Max and Bernie the beef. The technical changes they bring about are very necessary to keep the sport under check. The rate of development in F1 is so astonishing that this year the smaller V8 powered cars are almost as fast as the V10. If there no new limits on periodic intervals, than the cars would get too fast to dangerous. F1 had a reality check when 2 drivers lost their lives in 94, with karl wendlinger almost making it 3. The job of FIA is to keep the sport safe, fair and sustainable. For a long time up until the mid to late 90s, F1 was the domain of small specialist racing times. Then the manufacters pumped tons of money into the sport (Mercedes, Toyota to start with and later Honda, Renault and BMW) and the rate of development of the cars increased. If it were upto the the manufacturers and ther deep pockets, there is no limit on how much they would spend. The job of the FIA is to keep F1 safe and sustainable for the next generation of the Concorde Agreement or whatever it would be called. No everyone agrees with some of FIA's logic or decision, but the only FIA has a vested interest in the future of F1. As for the Manufactures, they don't care, Toyota or Honda will pull out whenever their budget has no room for F1. I would like to see the Williams and Mclarens, Ferraris in 10 years time.

In Memorium of Ligier, Tyrell, Prost, Stewart, Minardi, Pacific, Arrows, Lotus......

First he'll have to find some more speed to stay consistently ahead of Heidfeld

He's done well so far, exceeding the expectations of most, but the season is only half over. The job is not done yet.

I also have a hope that Coulthard will be in that mix as well as i expect Red Bull to be more competitive next season.

It has a good chance of happening. Newey deffently made McLaren faster when he joined them. Also every car that has been designed by Newey in recent times has been in the top 4 (i dont think he had a big role in designing the 2004 McLaren). Also this will be the first car Newey has designed with Coulthard's driving style in mind and that would be a huge advantage for DC.

seriously just give it up. Formula 1 is not a one man show. I have no idea why these redbull fans or newey fans assume that redbull cars would be magically faster and start winning races because this newey guy showed in red bull. formula 1 cars are complex machines, they need sustained developed over periods of time using technologies, processes that are developed and matured over time. hasn't anyone worked before on projects more complicated than a toaster to understand this? sure the redbull will be better because newey is a good designer and few other good people are moving. but to repeatedly say that mclaren will sink because newey left and redbull will win because newey came, is just plain naive and in insult to the whole mclaren team. there is a lot more than just newey that makes mclarens what they are......be it fast or slow or unreliable. sure great designers like newey carry significant clout in design decisions and direction of development.....but PLEASE don;t make it seem like this one kid newey is some wizard with a magic potion....

sometimes i think i am wasting my breath with little kids around here...geez! i am off to indy....see you all later....GO FERRARI!!!

Newey was with Williams when they were dominent in the early 90's and when Newey left Williams their results declined, and by a strange coincidence McLaren got more competitive around this time.

True, but there were other factors, such as williams losing renault engines, losing rothmans sponsorship, and new aero/tyre rules that changed the cars a lot. newey hasn't designed the best car (except arguably 2005) for a very long time. Don't get me wrong, his input will surely boost RBR's performance. But I think its too soon for RBR to suddenly become race winners in 2007

That is true but it still doesnt explain McLaren's sudden rise in performance.

Im not expecting a race winning car but my hope is that Red Bull will have a car at least as competitive as the McLaren this year. Should finish in the points every race and can get afew podiums as well. I dont think that is aiming too high.
