Hamilton Finally In F1

Recommended Posts

Dribblers sig is toooooo big.

the powers that be need to do something

Don't be such a fun inhibitor. It's off season and a bit of oversize sig' piccing never did anyone any harm. It kinda goes well with your spelling. Rest assured, when March comes around and the bull sh*t flares up again, i shall conform and reduce the size of my sig' flouting ways.

Love Steve xxxx

Everyone should realize that despite appearances, most issues get resolved via PM without anyone noticing or b!tching. I wish people would give the mods a break, they do a good job.

I second that!

And now for another bottle of that nice tempranillo. We need a wine emoticon. Big posting day tomorrow. Bye.

Much as I like Stella, to me Belgium's finest is reserved for the Holy Beer Chimay

Sorry for getting in the middle of your conversation but I've been out for a few days and after hearing the (big) news I was willing to check out the forum...

First of all, I'd like to say congratulations to Mike :bigwink: but also to all of us F1 fans.

Though I wouldn't have given LH the seat if I were RD, the truth is I am not him, and am sure the season its going to be more fun to watch (and to participate in the forum too) with Lewis in the GP's instead of Pedro...

I completely missed this! I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner! Thanks for that and I hope Hammy will do me proud....if not, well, I have made my bed and I shall lie in it ;)

There's actually a whole crop of good talent coming into the sport, but I hope we all aren't too quick to discard the older drivers......but in the end, speed shall be the judge (or money, but that's a different topic)...

I second that!

Hmmm...I wonder what you have planned for your 4,000th post :eusa_think:

Well Mike, I think you're right and I'll make my bed too...

Early in the year Lewis will quietly learn the ropes from the team. He'll quietly and politely pick Alonso's brains and take the good stuff, and ditch the bad. By mid season Alonso will be showing signs of stress that this young guy is getting far too close for comfort, and is going to take his crown in the very near future. He's calmer, more intelligent and more in control than Alonso. He has more ability. Period.

At the end of this year Ron won't have any regrets, British press or not.

By the way, I'm not bashing Alonso's driving ability, I think he is nearly great.

And (sorry I can't remember who!) said that there were two Jenson fans here. Then I'm the third, and to give the JB bashers some ammo, I think he's probably the most underated driver on the grid. He's not perfect, and he's had and learnt from some painful lessons - but his ability behind the wheel is up there with Kimi and Alonso.

Oops. Just one thing, I take all of this back if Lewis becomes Kimi's drinking buddy :P

Ok OK. Posting when you're fissed as a part isn't wise perhaps, but any road up, I'm not a fan of Mclaren, nostalgia and old favourites tell me to support Williams (met him before the his accident) BUT, McLaren have the knowledge and the memories - experience of winning - they can do it again.

What I'm REALLY looking forward to is how close to Alonso Hamilton will get in his first year. Autumn is quite right, the boy has something special. How do you put a finger on it? like watching Senna in a Toleman (yup, long time ago), he has that buzz that other brands don't have. I support Jenson partly because he's a Brit, mostly 'cos I think he's maturing into a great racer - but I really think you're watching the future when you watch Hamilton.

AND, whilst I'm enjoying typing at the speed of a slow thing with brakes on, which knob said that Karts shouldn't slide? (Your pic of Lewis Autumn). Was it Kaiser something? No offence if I'm wrong about you, but I spent 6 years as an instructor for Junior Karts so I would politely suggest that anyone saying a Kart shouldn't slide is wrong, the reasons are ridiculously simple:

The front of a Kart is as wide as a narrow thing, the rear as wide as a Chavette's arse. Arriving at the apex you need front and rear sidewalls of the tyre (tire?) kissing the kerb, at the very least, the rear tyre should overlay the front tyre at the apex. That's a slide. And you need to do it on every corner on every lap. If you can slide into the apex with that already set up to happen, all the better. They have no diff, you need to muscle them into the corner and come out clean.

Lewis on a Kart was truly sublime, beautiful, poetic, calculating, clever - and bloody aggressive. It was like watching history in the making. Frankly I don't care if I'm proved wrong - but he has one of the VERY best introductions to F1 I've ever seen. I've watched him (at the circuit) in his F3 days and later; nothing's changed. He may crash an burn due to age/experience/Alonso protecting his position in the team, but given the kit, he'll get the job done.

Gone for another Becks.

Thanks Dribbler. Sorry about the Becks, I'm just recovering now - feels like I went to bed with a really ugly bird :naughty:

EDIT: Come to think about it. I did.

Wondered why she kept moaning, 'Dribbler, Dribbler'.

Phew.

Thought she'd noticed my 'problem' ;)

 Nicely done! Well perhaps your secret is safe from her for a little longer. But if she'd slept with the Dribbler before, how safe are you now? Maybe a doctor's appointment is in order?

You're sooooooooo naughty Pump! That was well below the belt. Hmm, but so are 'me bits.. <_<

True though fella, the Great British health system is quickly sliding down the curtains of life itself. Shameful.

I'm sure Dribbler is a clean livin' lad Murray, nothing a gallon of battery acid can't clean up. Obviously rubbed in, not taken orally

 Yeah, true to some extent. It has improved a bit recently and the poor probably get better treatment here on the NHS than in the states, but yeah for the rest of us its not perfect. Personally I have private health care too, just like you I guess.

Yeah a good dose of battery acid might do it I suppose. ;)
