Me Thinks Alonso To Bmw?

Recommended Posts

Just to close this one off, many bloggers in Poland received the BMW news rather coolly, because several million people hoped that Kubi would either get a ride at McLaren, or that he'll get a decent teammate like Alonso (he is rather well liked, I think). As I said before, "Nick Rambo" is not particularly loved over there (or in Hungary, or in Turkey, etc, etc).

On a tangent, Kubica's Dad said he expect Robert to stick with F1 for at least 5 years (i.e. retain a seat), and challenge for the Championship in 3 years. Take this for whatever it's worth.

I AM happy with BMW's line up. Can't wait for Kubi to start embarrasing that over-selfassured German.

I knew I'd regret unignoring u. Now using the Redbullsh*tometer and some personal remarks to translate/answer yr words we have:

1. ' get a decent teammate like Alonso ' = get an excuse for letting him overtake him, so he can call it team orders

2. ' is not particularly loved over there ' : (part. note) weird... I get hundreds of visits from hungary and poland... maybe those watch the races :)

3. ' Kubica's Dad said ' : good source! i'll ask rubens mother if her son will b wdc this year and i'm sure she'll say 'next year!'

4. ' Kubi to start embarrasing ' : he already does. ;)

now being a mature person, i'm so sorry to tell u i really think kubi will stay in f1 for 5 years. dunno if he'll win, and i dont care enough to think about this. What sucks is the fact u don't respect other drivers because u've lost ur sense somewhere... I don't like kubica, i joke on his ridiculous look, but i never offended his talent or whatever u think he has. u have a huge 'L' on yr face... know whats is for don't ya?

 Now this is what TF1 needs! We've lost far too much passion recently. I remember the golden old days with Senna and Dan beating us all over the head. Man I miss those guys. :) I try my best to get some real debate going but it's hard to find the energy sometimes.

Yeah I think Kubi is doing really well, and who knows - soon BMW might be as quick as McLaren...

Can't wait for Kubi to start embarrasing that over-selfassured German.

 Honestly, I think Nick is one of the best drivers. As well as being talented he's a great role model in terms of work ethic and technical ability. (I know he had one bad race with Kubi though!)

3. ' Kubica's Dad said ' : good source! i'll ask rubens mother if her son will b wdc this year and i'm sure she'll say 'next year!'

 Yeah... I can only imagine what DC's parents are like, given that he himself is as bad as most people's mothers!

Well, don't blame me for your mistakes. Also, don't hold me responsible for your predjudices or your friends.

"Nick Rambo" is a nickname used by bloggers all over Poland, I did not come up with it. Kubica fended off Alonso for 16 laps at Silverstone in a car 0.5sec/lap slower, so I don't think he needs any excuses.

Kubica's Dad trained, sponsored, and managed him for 15 years. I rather believe what he says then then your opinion.

Kubica already embarassed Nick last year, and as it was shown above, he is ALWAYS faster given similar cars at 100%.

Having said all that, I already admitted that Nick and Kubi are about equal, which is not saying much if you compare their respective experience in F1.

Gee, looks like Heidfeld was working on that "Rambo" nickname ( get it? NICKname??) even in 2002.

I guess he is really is an equal opportunity err... driver?

Then again, he is not very discriminating about what he hits..

OK, that's enough of the personal, biased attacks...

My Dad thinks Alonso will go to BMW but I keep thinking Flabbio will snap him up & bring Renault out of their misery of not winning races that often & always settling for 7th & 8th, maybe 6th!

So the rumour is finally over. And the BMW decision is not a surprise at all. Did you'll watch yesterday's qualifying. Nice to see both kubica and heidfeld clocking the same time to the nearest thousand. How about the smile on mario's face. Awesome

Another Nando/BMW rumour. Nothing solid of course but I thought I'd post it anyway-

Source

Report - Alonso to BMW in 2009

Aug.28 (GMM) Fernando Alonso could emerge in a BMW-Sauber c#ckpit in 2009, according to reports.

The German newspaper Express claims that, while the Hinwil based team's race lineup is already sealed for next year, Spaniard Alonso is in boss Mario Theissen's sights for the season after.

Alonso, 26, is clearly unhappy at McLaren, where he signed a three-year contract covering 2007-2009.

But 'Express' said Alonso's manager, Luis Garcia-Abad, had recently been negotiating with both BMW-Sauber and Renault after uncovering a loophole in the McLaren contract.

While McLaren escaped formal sanctions in the recent World Motor Sport Council meeting, the team was actually found in breach of article 151c of the International Sporting Code -- a scenario that arguably voids Alonso's deal.

The Alonso-to-BMW rumour also coincides with Theissen's refusal recently to confirm whether Nick Heidfeld's new contract with the team extends beyond 2008.
