Me Thinks Alonso To Bmw?

Recommended Posts

hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha :clap3:

You'd make a great pairing with Lauda....

do you care to post something more substantive? like maybe a comparison (say, based on races where both cars were 100%)?

How about something like that from you, too? No need to make valid counter-attacks if there's nothing logical being put out there too attack.

The funniest part of the whole story is the fact that Heidfeld is not yet confirmed for the 2008 lineup. His manager is trying to act extra smart by sounding that Heidfeld is going nowhere so as to indirectly exert some pressure on Thiessesn to get Heidefeld's contract signed.

Same one as you, except I'm looking at lap times, stats, etc,, not just the finishes. Compare the results - the only time Heidfeld was ahead was either because he crashed into Kubi (TWICE!!) or Kubica's car was not performing 100%. Of course, thids also happened to Nick once, I think (when he DNfd). Bottom line, Heidfeld is at best evenly matched with Kubica

While this is a bit of a stretch, I still agree with Piotr that Kubica >= Heidfeld

BMW Sauber, Why leave Mclaren to go there? Granted they are on the way up but not in a title winning position for at least a couple of years.

I think if Alonso or Raikkonen were in a BMW, they would be winning GP this year, and would have a strong go at the WDC next year. Without development time with Alonso in the car during 2007, going over to BMW in the off-season would make it harder to challange for the championship, however...

While I love Kubica, and Nick's great too, the fact is Alonso > Kubica or Heidfeld... and look at how well the beamers do this year..

However, would the Spaniard really want to go to a German team? After a win, instead of a nice big hug from Flavio, he'd get what... a boot-click and firm handshake from Mario? :naughty:

The NH vs. RK debate answered here:

Australian GP, NH qualifies better race discounted because of Gearbox failure with RK. NH 1 point.

Malayasian GP, NH qualifies better race discounted because of Traction Control problem with RK. NH 1 point.

Bahrain GP, NH qualifies and races better than RK. NH 2 points.

Spanish GP, RK qualifies better race discounted because of Gearbox failure with NH. RK 1 point.

Monaco GP, NH qualifies better, RK races better. One point each.

Canadian GP, NH qualifies better, we all know what happened to RK. NH 1 point.

American GP, not counted due to RK not driving.

French GP, RK qualifies better and races better. RK 2 points.

British GP, RK qualifies better and races better. RK 2 points.

Eurpean GP, NH qualifies better and races better. NH 2 points.

Hungary GP, NH qualifies better and races better. NH 2 points.

These points are only taken when both cars qualify and finish the race without problems.

NH = 10

RK = 6

Hope that answers some questions over who is better NH or RK. The facts state NH I agree with that without taking into consideration that RK has just completed his first full year. RK has done a great job to this point and I rate the guys as a future World Champion without a moments doubt.

Nice work! However, in Hungary RK had some problems both in quali and during the race, no?

"Heidfeld open to Alonso" to me means BMW are contrary to public annoucement, trying to poach Alonso... If it happens it will be more like a schumacher to ferrari than the mclaren switch. The move would be the catalyst for moving the team up to the top teir, This would either cement his place in history as one of the all time greats or be a miserable failure that ruins his career by being beaten by heidfeld!

This would be a match made in heaven for me!!! My Favourate driver & team Combining forces!!! Hell YEAH!!!

I've said this on many occasions, and even before Bmw Sauber raced their first race, but they will be championship contenders sooner rather than later...

The constructors standings has a trend so far tends to agree with me:

2005 - 8th (Before Bmw took charge)

--------------

2006 - 5th

2007 - 3rd

Not bad I'd say...

nothing i could say would make u change yr mind because u simply doesn't want to debate, you want to say 'youre right'. you're doing a great work with it, already sounds pretty arrogant, and made m put u on ignore ;)

Let's not get too far. After all, Kubica is Polish and following this logic, he should be getting a night in a cooler for every finish outside the top 5...

Good dodge! Please note, that you threw the burden on me and STILL did not state anything of substance. I WILL make an effort, and spend time I don't have, and put together some kind of statistics to prove my point. Enjoy your ignorance. I mean, enjoy ignoring me. I'm on the verge of doing it with this whole site anyway. No, I'm not pouting, but this is like discussing lace with an idiot, who claims it's full of holes.

No, I did not call anyone "an idiot", it's just a phrase.

Oh, never mind.

You missed a few things.

The first 3 GPs NH qualified better due to tactical errors by RK's rookie Irania chief engineer resulting in RK missing hot laps in EVERY QUALI. Discount 3 points from NH total (NH 7, RK 6)

European GP-discount results completely due to collision between NH-RK. Let's forgo whose fault was it for the sake of argument. However, RK defacto started from the LAST PLACE due to the crash, so he made up way more than NH. Or, at least, discount 1 point from NH total (NH 6, RK 6).

Hungarian GP discount both quali and race due to irrepearable software glitch in RK's car.

Total NH 4 - RK 6.

Even if you disagree with my interpretation of European GP, it's still NH 5- RK 6. As I said, they are about equal but I'll give an edge to RK. Call it my national bias.

Thanks for the summary, though.

Sorry, just thought that your point was going into too much of the detail. I simply don't have time to analyze every single reply. But I think I have more beef about your posts on the Polish F1 blog. You know, the one with the crazy Spaniard...

Actually, in the Hungarian GP Kubi made up 2 positions and NH lost one, so mabe it's even 1 point for RK-but I'm not greedy.

It was just a very quick summary certainly not an in depth analysis that went into small problems within the team. If both cars finished and both cars qualified that's how I gave the points out, very basic.

But if pressed I would say that NH has the upper hand going into the last six GP's of the year, and I think the summary shows that. I know you disagree Piotr :D (I think you might already know that I also am quite a fan of Robert but I'm prepared to call the advantage to Nick).

But on the whole I think most people will agree with me.

Sorry about Scott, Eric. :o He was my 2nd favorite driver in F1. He had a lot of heart, and was willing to do just about anything to race. He's got the biggest shaft in F1 that I can remember. On top of that he was completely unpretentious - unlike the top 4 right now, with Hamilton being the king of pretentiousness. U R right, Scott would fit right in in NASCAR, or even WRC.

Scott also has that bowel condition, which certainly makes it more difficult to drive. Although its tough to root for someone with poopy pants, you have to consider that as evidence of his desire/commitment to driving. Kudos for that, and good luck Scott. Stay in open-wheel racing though.. just say NO to NASCAR!

Yeah, when I found out Scott's story i was really impressed, so I wish him all the best too! I know Eric wants him in open wheel, but I don't mind either way because I'm already supporting the Red Bull NASCAR team.

Oh, and, Piotr, I agree, they are about equal, but I guess I haven't really watched much. However, my gut feeling is that Kubica will win before Nick.

Thanks :D . I don't doubt that. As to Scott in NASCAR- if that happens I gotta see it. I live 20 minutes from Dover Downs and 2 hrs from Poconos Downs. And my 6-year old son keeps asking to see the "real" race (so far, I only took him to see a couple of Sprint races). :clap3:
