Is Mallya The New Flavio?

Recommended Posts

Those who are not familiar with Vijay Mallya (New owner of Team whatever it will be called after Spyker) will be wondering just who the heck he is and why is he sinking his money on this?

So here is some of the info on the guy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vijay_Mallya

I read his interview on Autosport and the teams connection with Ralf, I was so impressed by the direction he has laid out for the team. No favouring Ralf or any driver solely for the sake of nationality, Yes he might put in an indian driver, but only if he is ready for F1. He wants to invest more money into R&D and if Mike Gascoyne hitting form, the team might have some potential to better the likes of Super Aguri and Torro Rosso....

And now to the question, with his extravagant lifestyle, high political connections within India, will this man bring F1 to India and become the new Flavio of F1 using his money and influence? So is this just another stop on Team Jor-Whore-Don's list of clients!

Please don't compare good ol' Flavio to this a##. He is a pompous a##hole who wants everything thats shiny and new. He has done absolutely nothing constructive with his wealth ... all he really does is lives a life of extravagance. And now he is trying to facilitate the impending arrival of F1 in this country - a country that has so many flaws at every level of its infrastructure that F1 should be one of the last things on the minds of the dimwits running it. History has shown that F1 is not very profitable for a country as a whole. What real good does F1 do to India? Well, I for one, don't know.

Unfortunately, Mallya and his minions are probably working feverishly through the night to have the F1 circus come to town (or some remote wasteland) as we speak. All the socialites will make merry and F1 will become like Football - gloryhunters running amok .... a billion strong.

Even then, Ecclestone may decide that he has nothing to contribute to F1.

Wow. Are you two related?

I actually expected someone to say that being compared to Flavio is the insult.

Ah the good old times when the playboys were classy men and James Bond was a guy full of charme.

Now we have Briatore and Mallya and James Bond is a muscle bound blond Big Jim

I don't really know him that much other than his business side. I did see him in an Expo in Chennai, and I really wanted to ask him if Kingfisher Villa I saw in Goa was really owned by him!

I had abused Mallya using tame words like "motherfu(cker" "w#nker" "c#cksu(ker" . Guess it didn't pass muster with Bruce.

My father did say few things about him. I think Bruce would have agreed with you if he heard him! <_<
