“We keep on working, we do our thing,” Vettel shouts over the team radio, “We are who we are!”
"Vettel is a champion. That’s not referring to his achievements, but rather to his approach to everything he does. He wins. All the time. His preparation is meticulous, his attention to detail reminiscent of Michael Schumacher at his peak, and his performance on the track is almost always flawless. Vettel is capable only of domination. He knows no other way... Vettel is not in Formula One to be liked. He is there to win. And in the words of Ayrton Senna, perhaps the greatest of all Formula One drivers, “Nice men don’t win.”"

Mercedes-Benz Motorsport is prepared for one of its biggest weekends of the year as qualifying day for the German Grand Prix begins. Providers of three of the ten F1 teams, mixed results are expected for the manufacturer whose engines are found in the back of the Brawn, McLaren and Force India cars.
http://rd.adlink.net/uk/ad/gpupdate.com/ROS;sz=468x60;tile=1;ord=650905697226? With six of the field's twenty cars powered by Mercedes powerplants, hundreds of the company's employees will be filling the Turn 1 grandstand at the Nürburgring as the German Grand Prix title returns to the track for the first time in twenty-four years. With Mercedes' highly-developed KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) unit generally regarded as the best in the field, optimism is high at the Nürburgring.
Mercedes' Norbert Haug is looking forward to qualifying"This looked quite encouraging, I have to say, and definitely better than I'd anticipated before the sessions today," said Mercedes' motorsport boss Norbert Haug after Friday practice, with the McLaren works car of Lewis Hamilton at the top of the timesheets. "We certainly did not post 'show times' four our home race; our speed was genuine and quite a bit better than in the last races. I certainly don't expect us to be fastest tomorrow but if everything comes together we probably will be in a position to deliver a solid job on race day."With the World Champion having led the way, Finnish team-mate Kovalainen's session finished with a contrasting 17th place. "Heikki's car was not on the same technical level as Lewis', which had new pieces that only arrived last night and which are not yet available in sufficient numbers," Haug continued. "Our KERS hybrid is a good help around this circuit and gives us more than three tenths of a second per lap."

The world champion again made full use of McLaren’s upgraded MP4-24 chassis to outpace his old rival Fernando Alonso by two-tenths of a second.
Felipe Massa was third quickest for Ferrari ahead of Red Bull duo Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, with Kimi Raikkonen rounding out the top six in the other Ferrari.

Kubi, Buemi, Fisi, Glock & Bourdais are all out. I think this is Bourdais' last race for STR & will be replaced by British F3 champion & curent Renault World Series competitor Jaime Alguersari! Webber quickest & Nando only a few hundreths behind so Renault have done their homework too!

I am just kind of sad because Alonso (and maybe Hamilton) were ready for bigger things if it wasn't for that mad Q2. It would have been good to see Vettel and Button finally racing against people that can give them a run for their money. Oh, well...I hope this is finally Webbo's time.
