Still, I can't say I'd care how "plastic" my car was if it looked like a Ferrari and made the same engine noise. I absolutely hate reckless drivers, but I didn't get too angry when a Lambo passed me going way over the speed limit on the motorway only because it sounded so damn nice (looked ugly, but hey, it's an orange Lambo, of course it'll be ugly). A Lambo sounds like what a Ferrari should sound like. It should scare you into the next life. Sadly, the Ferraris sound too tame to my ear. Execs may be at fault, but someone designed the 300, Pacifica, Sebring, Aspen, and the "my name is Ram" commerical and I'll eat a roast beef sandwich for breakfast at 6:30 AM if they aren't the same person. Actually, I already did that this morning...(it wasn't as disgusting as I would have guessed. Waffle Thursday is a total disappointment when there are no waffles). At one point in time, I was flirting with the idea of going to the Art Center College of Design. While taking a tour, I saw what the automotive design students were doing. Trust me, there's no shortage of talent and good car design in the U.S. Unfortunately, most of those students leave employment at the auto makers to design.....wait for it....Hot Wheels. Where in the heck did you get that jerk-off-i-con? If it is just about the "looks" i'll add these two. I have yet to find an ugly Alfa. I had only seen it recently as the next generation IndyCar will be wingless and a poster on an IndyCar forum suggested it could look something like that. If my memory serves me right, the F40 won the speed stakes, and the mag was 'Indian Auto Journal'. Perhaps the 2 may appear clunky now, but memories are fond. Some 20 or more years ago I had dinner with a couple who had driven to our host's house in his new 959. He had just sold his company to a large British firm - Cookson, perhaps??? - and thought this was a fair way to treat himself. His wife was just this side of certifiable, although not because of the car, and perhaps he in some way did deserve it. Try a Dino. Or a Ferrari Berlinette 375. Or a Ferrari 250 GTO. Or a Ferrari 328 GTS. Hell, even a Daytona has a certain odd beauty. Of all the great Ferraris out there, Lab picks the one best left in a garage under a sheet. Is not a matter of beauty or styling is matter of love:wub: Is there a Stratos under all those lights? Just as I did a transporter went by carrying an early 1950's Jaguar 120. It had a white body, steel wheels, rear spats and a black soft top. Giugiaro said once: beauty is a mater of time (he wasn´t refering to women...) and some cars are timeless beauties. And here is my new car: champagne color a classic masterpiece of horror!!
