Alonso Or Kimi Gone?

Recommended Posts

WebRic, Ron didn't have to play innocent, he was. He didn't confess so as to hide anything, so don't be thinking he was still guilty, but only fessed up because he was caught. Ron informed the FIA himself when he could have kept it under wraps and in house. Say what you will about him, but he's one of the most honest faces in F1 and has a career of being a standup honest and person with integrity. There is far more evidence to show this, than Ron being underhanded and foul. That you can easily see in Briattore. From having illegal traction control, to removing fuel filters for faster re-fueling, to ordering PQ Jr to crash. Now that's a man with no integrity or honesty, and he only came "clean" to lesson his banishment from F1.

I am too tired to get into a long argument about who loves whom the most, but the answer to what help, or an example, is Piquet Junior crashing on Alonso's behalf. Anyone who believes that Alonso was not in on it is in la la land.

I got ripped apart for stating this Andy...

Yeah right ! Your engineers are making copy of Ferrari car and you don't know anything about it!

Hahah exactly, ohh lets run an extra brake pedal to operate the rear brakes from the front, even though it clearly states in the regs only 3 pedals in the footwell, not 4 or 5. So if that's not a form of traction control, what is? You could ride one pedal slightly to adjust the car movements.

No one is innocent in Formula One world!

No-one is saying he was innocent, but that he did not play Mr Innocent.

Odd, Brad, Alonso would do anything to win and would take that gift without question.

Not so simple! He is one of the greatest bosses in history of Formula one! To be one you have to know every detail what your team does and try to find what your competition does! Otherwise you are fried! Dennis is very intelligent and he knew right away what will happen and where is his position and cards he is being given in that situation! He played everything he could to minimise the damage! He knew Max Mosley hates him, and that he will pay for it! But he got even with Max next year with nazi prostitute affair!

Dennis survived, Max didn't!

After this season people must ask themselves how good was Nelson , or how good is Romain! Nelson, Romain, Kimi and Felipe all appeared to be more or less at same level compared to Alonso! But Romain and Massa were hard opponents to Kimi!

Or how good is Vergne or Kvyat, compared to Ricciardo , who is beating Vettel!?

I think Ron and Alonso deserve each other. I doubt anything good will come from this. Nobody is expecting Ferrari to challenge next year, so no pressure for Seb. The mercs will win again. And McLaren will probably end up being bought by Honda.

If things go badly at McLaren there will be fireworks and Alonso will end up being given cuddles by Flavio.

I think Honda learned that lesson, they can build an engine but a full chassis is a different kettle of fish. There is talk that the the Canadian billionaire Stroll is interested in a share in McLaren, although he has been linked with Sauber, too.

Well I read an article last night that said, because Alonso is still signed for another two years with Ferrari, of he turns around and sayes he is staying. They'll have no option but to sack Kimi.

I read that, too, hilarious, three world champions in one team and two cars, oops.

Here is an outside bet, Lotus have confirmed Mercedes power for 2015, maybe The Fonz is going home.

But I thought Lotus were still in financial strife, there's no way they could afford Alonso, unless he has agreed to a significant pay cut.

Yeah well I was about to mention that. Apparently they want to withdraw the sponsorship now the business is under different control.

I wonder if that is part of the reason for the Ferrari split? If he no longer brings in the $30M, do we still want him? Who would have thought it, Alonso a pay driver!

I think it's more down to the reshuffle in Ferrari, maybe someone has power now who didnt before and they don't like fernando, could be anything. But one thing is for sure, IMO he is the fastest out there and most consistant and has been ever since 2005. But I think Fernando has gone to Mclaren, how else would Ferrari have the money to pay for Sebastian?

Dunno, Santander were supposed to be paying $30M per season for Alonso, meaning Ferrari got him for free. Rumour is Mattiaci did not get on with Alonso, but who knows? Not sure I believe the Vettel figure, $80M per season?

Yeah I read probably the same article as well. What they left out is that Kimi is also under contract. Thus their conclusion Kimi would automatically get the boot makes no sense. Especially when the murmurings of him losing the plot with Mattiachi have been around for a little bit now too. This smells of PR by Alonso's camp if you ask me. Ferrari have shown quite clearly they are not going to be dictated to by anyone in the team, be it Team Principals, Directors, and especially drivers.

If Santander goes, so be it. I've always been suspicious of them anyway whilst at Ferrari after they apparently paid out to get Alonso in there.

The more logical of these scenarios is that Kimi will partner Alonso. And the notion of taking a sabatical might be real too. Thus if he wants his money, he gets to sit out a season. His days for driving for Ferrari are gone. Mattiachi has seen through is BS and he's essentially craftied his way out of the team by trying to extract more money, the buy out performance clauses and so on. He's no bigger than the team.

No driver is. But unless a "fallout" has happened, there is no reason to replace Alonso. For starters IMO he is the best of the bunch. Second, he knows the staff, car and the day in day out workings of Ferrari, for someone even as good as seb, will take time to settle in and find his feet, same for anyone. So I can't see why replace Fernando, unless its Fernando himself, he has looked tired for a while and I think is over the fact he has to drive Grand Prix after Grand Prix at qualifying pace, it's taken it out of him. It could very well be no different where ever he goes, but the fact a change is as good as a holiday, that's what I think Fernando is playing by. It's a gamble on if Ferrari or Mclaren or whoever to build a fast car next year, so it's not the "gamble" I think Alonso is after. He wants the money and why wouldn't he? No point struggling to win for minimum, when you could so the same and get paid big dollars, common sense there, can't get up him for that. But IMO, kimi would go before Alonso, weather he is liked or not. He brings in the results, no one else does.

Ferrari under Mattiachi is a whole new beast. And yes the word is that Alonso had a massive blowout with Mattiachi and things have been strained for quite awhile now. It doesn't matter how good he is on the track, RBR had no interest to sign him with Horner saying, when you buy Alonso you get a mortgage as well. So other teams know he can be either a handful, toxic or has a presence that eats away at the team internally. My guy feeling is that Mattiachi did not accept Alonso's terms, and put him in his place reminding him it's him that serves Ferrari and not the other way around.

If he stays at Ferrari it's because in the end he backed down on all of his demands out of fear, or out of lack of options in other teams.

But Mattiachi has shown no signs of being a pushover. Thus team harmony and a good work attitude might be more valuable to him than a slightly faster driver who can end up being completely toxic. It matter a great deal if a driver is liked actually. But even more if you positive. Alonso is Mr Negative, is selfish and has been making underhand backhanded little comments about Ferrari for years. You do realize Prost was thrown out of the team for way less than what Alonso has done or said, especially his putdown of their car when asked what he wanted for his birthday.

It's not a matter of if but when. Alonso is leaving Ferrari. If not this year, then next year. He will not be seeing out his career at Ferrari.
