Funny how only the teams not doing that well complain about the tyres. Take Button's quote and replace his name with Alonso lol. There tyres may have not been great, but it's not affecting McLaren and Renault. Either Michelin are giving the other teams bad tyres or their tyre choices just havn't been very good.

Yes, imho, too. Michelin gives equal tyres to all, but anyway they are "almost equal", heh.

And the best tyres comes to best cars, as it always was-is-will in f-1, heh.

So Renault (+ domestic) is #1, McLaren`s are definatly 2nd, Toyota #3, BAR #4, etc.

Maybe, who knows, one of the reasons of Toyota going in 2006 to Bridgestone, is they do not like role of 3rd Michelin team, and like role of 2nd Bridge team, coz it can be even equal role with Ferrari, as Toyota is ad domestic for Bridge as Renault for Michelin !

Well first it was wind during qualifying, now it's tyres during the race. The whole package was crap!

You know I'm not so sure. Michelin have always been open and fair from what I've seen. They have never done the Bridgestone <> Ferrari thing where they develop just for them. Each team picks the type of tyre they want to run. They don't make 10 different grades of each type of tyre and give the best batch to the top teams the crappy batches to the lesser teams. What is happening is some teams are running on medium, some on hard and some on soft. The teams can pick whatever tyre they think will work the best. It's down to the right tyre for the right track and how the car is setup for it. Clearly Toyota, BAR and the others who are complaining are not doing as good a job as Renault and McLaren. I don't think it's Michelin's fault at all to be honest.

In all seriousness though, KoolMonkey makes some valid points. I just think that BAR, Toyota et al aren't using the tyres as effectively as Renault and McLaren and aren't able to get symetry between car and tyre. Did JB really blame the wind for his quali lap??

That is utter crap. The tyres are made for the team that does the testing. Its not Ferrari's fault that Schnaider doesnt want to spend money and Stoddy is just Stoddy. Do you think if Minardi were on Michelins the tyres will be more suited for them?

Actually Alonso also had tyre problems later in the race, its just that he didn't whine about it. No driver has a race where everything works perfectly, people like Button are just the first ones to come out and whine.

Yep. He said that there was a headwind gusting as he was climbing back up to the finish line.

No he also said he was suffering from oversteer too. It was Nick Fry who said about the wind and apparently showed Button data which showed that the wind had changed direction slightly, so if your team boss says something and they have recently helped buy you out of a mess are you really going to disagree? Me thinks not.

Complaining about tyres, or any excuses really, isn't exactly new in f1. And nojvnof1, whatever excuse JB has for his quali lap, which wasnt a bad lap still managed 4th, will not match JV's excuse of not being able to set up his car!

in monaco renault enggineers predicted bfore the race that tyres were going to be a prob for their package as monaco is a 1 off setup(very veeerrry different from the rest of the races).and in imola fa and kr did not make the same tytre choicefa went on to win!!!! .if they had.......

Nick Fry said it was the wind! Not Button! Anyway I've heard drivers complaining of losing time due to cross-winds plenty of times, as have you no doubt!
