Michael Schumacher reckons that enduring his worst season in Formula 1 has motivated him to win like never before in 2006.

The defeated seven-time world champion told his official website that nothing less than regaining the world title will do next season.

"This surely was not a season that we can be proud of." he said

"But now we can fully concentrate on next year, and our only ambition can be to fight for the title once again."

"When you consider how well we did last year, and that the other teams were able to do be so far ahead of us in terms of performance this year, then the conclusion would be that we should also be able to be among the best in 2006."

The Ferrari star won just once in 2005 (the farcical US GP) but more often received a heavy drubbing at the hands of Renault and McLaren.

His misery was compounded by a disastrous season finale in China that saw the German collide with a Minardi during the installation laps then spin out of the race ignominiously behind the Safety Car.

But Schumacher says he has already picked himself up off the canvas and is itching to get back in the fight.

"Lots of people asked me yesterday, how long it takes for me to regain my passion for driving after a screwed up season like this - that's easy: I'm even more passionate about racing after a season like this!" he said.

"It makes you want to fight and be among the best even more.

"You can't forget that even though there were many reasons to be disappointed this year, but no reason whatsoever to be disappointed in any of our people, our team is and always will be great."

McLaren and Renault both have better PAIR of drivers.

I remember the years where there wasnt a number 1 because Nigel Mansell and Alain Prost...I never liked the number 0 in a car. (1993 and 1994)

I can't see any good performace than Kimi's this year's results. (except Schumi in 2000)
