JAMES ALLEN'S VERDICT

ITV

[The oracle.]

I think the first thing which strikes me about the new rules package announced last week is the way the news about F1 rule changes is conveyed to the media and public.

I listened to it on a radio show with a non-specialist presenter, whose line seemed to be,

I have no bias as such to J.A. I thought he put forword some good points.

His picture does remind me of a kid that just swiped some candy from the store.

I hear enough of Allen during the season, I'd prefer to not read his drivel in the off season too.

I'm surprised by what I read here - I think James Allen is a good commentator. He never runs out of stuff to say, and has a lot of enthusiasm - and he had the biggest boots in the world to fill. Just imagine trying to take murray walker's job, you gotta give him some credit!!! I also think he makes some very good points, and I agree with him about qualifying. Yet another mosley balls-up I think

The guy $hits me. Exhibit A: Refer to Alonso's move on Michael at 130R at Suzuka last month. After the move, Brundle talked for a bit then like half a lap later Allen goes off his nut as if it just happened, not spur of the moment, it sounded prepared. Ben Edwards should get his job.

As a journalist, JA may be passable, and I will grudgingly admit that he does, from time to time, come up with interesting points. As soon as I see his face, or hear his voice, however, I just want want to put his lights out.

Absolutely, leagues better than the current management...

Although that is not a great compliment!

well the new management was able to keep button with the team under his own free will. under richards i suspect he would have been out the door.

in other areas however they have been lacklustre but let's not forget how unhappy richards made his drivers.

I thought Sato was really happy...

he was happy, relieved, thankful and probably astonished he'd been given a plum ride which was not in proportion with his talents. He was also happy as Honda effectively bought him that ride.

I think he even got paid(!!!) which effectively allowed the Sato fanatics the technically-true argument that he was not a pay driver.
