especially this year with all the different engines, chassis, and tyres. Its almost impossible at the moment to tell who's fast and who isnt.

Its hard to tell. Sometimes drivers react badly to being the number 2 driver and perform much better when they are the number 1 driver. Take DC for example he spent years being the number 2 driver at McLaren and did OK but he wasnt brilliant but when he moved to Red Bull and he was treated like the number 1 driver he had many brilliant performances and placed his car higher than most other drivers could. I believe that Jenson is a driver that will go well when hes number 1 but when hes treated like number 2 (like he would at Renault) he would perform below everyones expectations.

No doubt about it, as ive said many times before... the three drivers to beat in F1 are Alonso, Raikkonen & Schumacher, as oppose to previous seasons where it was only Schumacher.

thats only cos this year alonso and raikkonen had the best cars. Maybe next year toyota will produce a dominant car and you'll all be saying trulli and ralf are now the men to beat - you need to look beyond they drivers' equipment! Button would kick alonso's butt as a team-mate

No it couldn't, Button earned every single point, except at nurburgring when sato retired and jenson picked up 1 extra point. I think you need counselling to rid your head of Button cos you're obviously obsessed with him

Even i wouldn't make such a silly comment! I think Alonso is better than Button, but I think Button could be as good, i think given the right car where he truly believes he can win a race he will be as good, i just dont think he has the attitude to go all out like some others at the moment!

But he does go all out. Look at belgium and turkey where he started the race further back than usual, he put on some outstanding displays of driving/racing. Button and Alonso have never been team-mates so its hard to say, but my opnion is that Alonso is no better. However I do admit that Raikkonen and Schumacher are probably slightly better all-round than JB

Well Button is very good, otherwise why would I support him? But I think he is 4th best, with the ability to be great, whether he can prove his worth with not great machinery is another thing!

How do you know this? If you are going by the fact that Fisi beat Button in 2001, then that is just plain wrong as it was only Jenson's 2nd season in F1 and he was driving with a shoulder injury for most races.

I don't think Alonso would beat Button at all. They'd more than likely be evenly matched.
