I think Mclaren have made a bloody big scoop, and I am very happy that they signed Alonso. If Kimi wants to leave for Ferrari (which I doubt he will do) Alonso will probably be driving with JPM in 2007 and then someone like Hamilton in 2008.

If Renault leaves or stays in F1 one can only speculate in, but as Alonso 'only' makes $6 mill in his current contract I think a $20 mill+ deal at Mclaren would have been incentive enough.

Anyway, as most F1 fans, I would absolutely love seeing Kimi and Alonso fighting it out in the same machinery. Forking out $45 mill+ on driver salary could actually be worth while from a financial point as the driver lineup would be a marketer's wet dream.

:clap3: Congratulations Mclaren Fans :clap3:

Looking forward to read some announcement from Kimi though......

Mclaren wont be having any lack of talent if kimi and Alonso are pairing up !!!!

:welcome: Parag! If Kimi now does sign for Ferrari in 2007, what will Michael do?

Red Bull Racing

My prediction?

Schumacher to Red Bull or retirement

Kimi to stay at Mclaren and partner with Alonso

Webber to Renault

Montoya to Williams

Or retirement.

How about BMW in 2007 for MS.

Poor old JPM!

He may very well be partnered with FA. 2007 is goign to be very interesting. Hats off to Mclaren for being professional. JPM and KR now have a full year to decide what they want to do, and arrange for the best possible seat for themselves.

I think its highly likely that 06 will be MS last year. It looks to me like Kimi to Ferrari, and lucky little Massa will be there as his number 2, Alonso & JPM at Mclaren, and Renault better hope Kovalainen is something special. Its EXTREMELY unlikely that JPM will want to go back to williams. Alonso must surely know something about renault, maybe they're going to withdraw, maybe he knows Symonds is leaving, something like that, otherwise it just doesnt make sense.

Schumacher to Red Bull? Please

I think Renault will go back to be an engine supplier-only in 2007.

Bit weird though to just come into f1 as a team, then 4 years later pull out!
