Today’s schedule was centred on tyre testing and set-up work for both drivers. Felipe Massa, at the wheel of a 248 F1, covered 68 laps, the quickest in a time of 1’31”908. Luca Badoer, at the wheel of an F2004, fitted with a regulated power version of the V10 engine completed 63 laps, the quickest in 1’31”230. Massa: 248 f1 - 1.31.908 -- 68 laps badoer: f2004 v10 - 1.31.230 -- 63 laps. Super Aguri debuts at Kemble Airfield 14 February 2006 On Tuesday afternoon Super Aguri had his maiden run at Kemble Airfield (Gloucestershire, England). At the airfield strip Takuma Sato drove the SA05 during two runs in the afternoon. The car was completely unbranded white. Super Aguri will make its first official appearance next week at Barcelona when the team will join other F1 teams for three days at the Spanish track. Villeneuve ran a damper test and testdriver Robert Kubica did some work on the set-up of the car. Jacques Villeneuve: Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-03 / BMW P86 V8 Test kilometres today: 185 km (40 laps) Fastest lap: 1:17.514 min (lap 17) Programme: Today, Jacques ran with the team a damper test and in addition to that he worked on an evaluation of several new components. Robert Kubica: Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-02 / BMW P86 V8 Test kilometres today: 407 km (88 laps) Fastest lap: 1:17.551 min (lap 68 ) Programme: Robert used the test day to work on the set-up of the car. Tomorrow Nick will take over the driving from Robert and will do set-up work in preparation for the race simulation on Thursday. narain fan 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2006 McLaren Valencia test notes 2006-02-14 Racing series F1 Date 2006-02-14 The new Team McLaren Mercedes livery made its track debut at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia today. Juan Pablo Montoya and Pedro de la Rosa were present in Spain to conduct shakedowns with chassis's two and three of the MP4-21, which arrived from the McLaren Technology Centre over the weekend. Work for both drivers today focused on initial systems checks, prior to proper testing with the two cars starting tomorrow. Pedro completed 102 laps of the 3.94km Valencian circuit, putting over 400km on his MP4-21, including two long runs of 26 laps. The Spaniard set a quickest time of 1m11.633, during a run of 10 laps mid-afternoon, which put him third on the timesheets for the day. Juan Pablo covered 190km during today's session in the other MP4-21. He ended the day fourth on the timesheets, with a 1m11.701, having completed 48 laps over a series of multi-lap runs, including a 15 lap stint at the end of the day. He started running shortly before 14:00, as the test team had been completing the engine and gearbox installation. Mclarens new colour scheme is really eye catching... I want to see what it looks like on track, but from what ive seem I do like it. It was the first day at Barcelona for Heidfeld. Yesterday Villeneuve and Robert Kubica were at the wheel. Nick Heidfeld: Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-02 / BMW P86 V8 Test kilometres today: 338 km (73 laps) Fastest lap: 1:16.374 min (lap 20) Programme: Nick worked on the set-up for the race simulation which is planned for tomorrow, and in addition practiced starts. Jacques Villeneuve: Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-03 / BMW P86 V8 Test kilometres today: 403 km (87 laps) Fastest lap: 1:16.551 min (lap 35) Programme: Jacques did the scheduled damper assessment and worked on the car set-up. Jenson_Rules 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Race simulation exercises completed in Bahrain The weather was warm and sunny in Bahrain on Wednesday morning for the start of the Honda Racing F1 Team's third day of testing at the Sahkir circuit, scene of the opening Grand Prix of 2006 Formula One season in little more than three weeks time. Conditions were a little hotter than on Tuesday with ambient temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and a track temperature of 33 degrees Celsius. Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello continued their driving responsibilities in chassis RA106-01 and chassis RA106-03 respectively. Both drivers focused on tyre and aerodynamic evaluations in the morning session before completing race simulation exercises in the afternoon session, in conjunction with further tyre evaluations. Jenson completed a very impressive 140 laps during the day, once again setting the second fastest time overall and the fastest time among the V8 runners. Rubens also completed more than 100 laps and was third fastest overall. Bahrain test times - Wednesday 1. Felipe Massa (Ferrari V10) 1m 30.018s 2. Jenson Button (Honda) 1m 31.265s 3.
