Honda Refuses To Use Flexing Wings

Recommended Posts

Yes i think a lot of it is to do with the fact that they were penalised for cheating last year. They do not want to take the same risk again.

F1 cars have been known to soar to great heights on occasion. Monza gorilla posted a pic not so long ago showing one such flight.

Search for it jem ;) You'll be impressed.

Haha couldn't get it working could you Mr. Zsaferwhatever? Told by the company board to fix the rest of the ****ing car weren't you?

:clap3:

I think Honda probably couldn't get their flex wing to work so it's just an excuse, or maybe they want pitty from others.

This is just another reason Honda won't win anytime in the near future

Honda are borked. JB clearly has little if any knowledge in being able to setup his car and actually help develop it. JB asside, I'm sad Honda are not doing any better than they were years back. For starters, idiots like Fry need to get the chop and pronto. The same thing is going on at Toyota. Tons of money and incompetance throughout.

Teams make strides and advances with visionary people and also great teamwork. Honda and Toyota appear to be in shambles. Ferrari turned it around from last year. McLaren are FUKT now some of their best people have left with I'm positive, Kimi leaving as well. I feel sorry for Alonso as when he made the decision last year, McLaren were kicking a##.

I agree that Fry should be targeted with the lionshare of the blame. It is he, at the end of the day, that is responsible for his team putting a good car on track. I may think Richards was a b@stard, but he was an effective b@stard and that's all that really counts. Listening to Fry drone on, trying to not commit to anything solid, reminds me of certain politicians. Alot of wind and no substance.

You lead by having a goal and holding your team responsible for meeting that goal. Fry seems too reluctant to take his department heads to task for not meeting goals. Far too nice.

Jenson and Rubhino can only do so much with a car that is lacking in total downforce. What good is it to put more wing on the nose if the back is also low? You put more wing on the rear and you get a car that is overall heating the tires, but now has too much downforce to be fast. Not sure what the solution is, but they better find it quick. Perhaps a softer tire compound for the first stint? :eusa_think:

This is all completely out of my arse, so don't call me out for proof, I'm too tired to go looking for it!

Yeah, you're right. But with the way that car is leaving the tires cold, the soft tires would do well anyway...

Fittipaldi at Monza in the early 90's was when an F1 car really literally flew!!!

As for the flexi wings issue, I don't buy the 'illegal' argument from Honda. If it were illegal it would be banned. My guess is that they just haven't got their heads around the whole concept. If they did, and it gave them data showing them a significant performance increase, one that could give them half a second, do you really think they wouldn't use it??
