I will be supporting his replacement obviously but I have a lot of faith in Nick Heidfeld. A 3 year contract with BMW which have been impressive of late so it may be both Kimi and Nick. Nick had a bad race in Italy but he deserves more credit for what I believe being the most under-rated F1 driver.

Yes I'd love to know how Nick would fare in race-winning machinery, although my current gut feeling is that he would be a bit like Fisi. Good, but not good enough to consistently challenge for wins

Nick is good, but I don't think he's that good. I just feel that he relaxes when he's in a comfortable position. I mean when knows he's going to have a race seat for sure then he'll slack off. He didn't really show that he was that quick at Sauber or Jordan. He did a great job at williams beating Webber most of the time but he needed to prove that so that he can get a race seat. But after he got his contract with BMW he seem to slow down and was often out pace by JV. IMO I don't think he's going to have a race seat after next year if he doesn't pick up the pace. Rumors are RS is coming to BMW in 08 and I don't think they're going to demote Kubica to being a test driver.

I'll go to three drivers:

Kimi, Kubica, and someone who I already support, Scott Speed.

We all know any original MS fan's(since the mid 90's) stopped supporting him because of all the cheating which just left stat's whores and kid's. Kid's being the ones that support the most famous because they don't understand F1 and try for the "safest" option.

The stat's whore will cling to the next most achieved driver in F1......ugh Alonso, I speak for all us established fan's when I say we don't want your delusional rantings blemishing our favourite driver.

The kid's will go for the much more "marketable" (Iceman) Kimi.

Some trickle will go to Hamilton and Heikki for various reasons.

I take offense to this i would like to think i fall into neither of these catagories!!!! i have being watching F1 since early 90s and been a very passionate MS fan since the mid 90s. I have watched & supported him religiously throughout the years even when he first joined Ferrari & they were cr*p - i still supported my man, when he made mistakes (or cheated as you all call it) i still supported him, when he won titles & races of course i was still there in my red, when they were crap in 2005 i still watched every race & never once considered swapping my allegiances!!!!! I would like to think if he had continued & became really crap again i would still be there because he truly is my idol & my hero

i would much rather have FA than KR but again im not being accused of jumping the bandwagon by anyone - no i think id much rather start supporting a new comer - someone who i think might make it & not neccessarily guarnteed like FA - though next year i think KR will kick a## in the Ferrari

Does anyone really believe a great driver in a poor car could beat a great driver in a great car? to win in inferior machinery the others in better car's need to either have major problems or be completely incompetant, the driver in the inferior car can not be praised for others misfortunes....keeping a cool head and doing their maximium is all they can do but not miracles.

I think Rosberg needs to be given more of a chance before criticising him. Even Webber has only managed 6 points cos the car is so pathetically unreliable, and also pretty slow. Weird to think that a williams actually fought for the lead at monaco. Lets see how Nico fares against the veteran Wurz. Hopefully the car will finish more races and it will give us a better indication of how good (or not) Nico really is

I agree with you there dude, he just seems to go to sleep when he feels safe.

Although Willy Rampf said yesterday that since Kubica has had a race seat, that he has never seen Nick so motivated.

I think now he maybe feels a little pressure. Good for him.

Yeah I think Nick might be feeling a tad nervous after monza. Kubica could ruin Heidfelds career unless Nick puts Kubica firmly in his place!

You cant ignore Schumi's stats though, they're pretty amazing no matter whether u like him or not.

Some of us like myself base opinions on drivers performances rather than marketability or stats, hence why I don't like the way Alonso won his 2005 title and think Button is great despite only winning 1 race so far!!

When Schumacher arrived at Ferrati the team was in limbo mate. It took them 5 years to go back to the top. Your comment is therefore rather idiotic.

In fairness though Ferrari did have by far the biggest budget in f1 for quite some time after 1996 and 'stole' most of Benetton's key technical staff!
