irishfemalefan 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 That's right, claim an advantage in something that's impossible to quantify or test... its not - look how successfully we women run most of you men
bajo39 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 For trying to make rubbish sound like fact, employers rarely ask for your IQ, they look at the pieces of paper, for women it shows career breaks for many. I challenge you to an IQ test, stop hiding behind the blanket of generalisations and prove it for yourself, I will, I've taken many. I took one at work and got 138 or 136, something like that... What's yours? its not - look how successfully we women run most of you men

After a few years of marriage, all the wife has to say is cor I'm warm and the husband gets up and opens the window. They should find a means to test "common sense". Medilloni 6 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 I think we are different, and that difference should should be openly welcomed by both - and is virtually never admitted to, or considered, if both sides are to be brutaly honest. How often have men been guilty of thinking 'it's pointless promoting her, she'll be a pain once a month, have kids and I'll still need to pay her'? Or, 'Can't have a woman beating me'. On the other side of the coin, how many women try to understand the natural instincts that drive us to/with our behaviour traits, which are just as real and consuming? How many women over-react to the 'I'll prove I'm better' trait that many women have (probably understandable!)? As a bloke-sales-manager I generally prefer women sales people (and no, not for ) most of the time; they don't take rejection as personally as most men, their work rate is humungous, they generally prove to be more professional too (non of the offensive behaviour that us men can be easily led into when in groups). Yes I know there are exceptions, and I'm priveledged to work with a great bunch that are evenly split in the sex stakes. Common sense? No, I wouldn't agree that women have more of it. The other side of the coin of my preference for women sales people, is that ours is a technical sales situation (Internet based) - and certainly, men generally grasp the concept faster than the women, and are better at describing a technical service in a graphical, laymans way too. I would lump that trait in with common sense. My partner is a succesful business woman that runs a home far better than I can, but she says I'm better at 'other stuff' that's just as important. My sister is a 'Reader', one step above a professor. Her husband is a Professor of computer science - she earns the most IQ, shmi-Q. I don't believe anyone can quantify intelligence in ways we do now... No. We're just different. welcome it woth open arms, enjoy it, and once we complement each other (as in two parts making a 'whole one'), we get along soooo much better. I've just read that, and I think I wrote it in a blonde moment
schumi13 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 Rubbish. Females walk all over males in secondary education too. Now I know you like to think you're better than your female counterparts, but saying something doesn't make it automatically true. Though I'll give you one thing, men are in prison a lot more than women. Would you call that smart? Perhaps we should all do an IQ test. I'm in an all boys secondary school and we are now out performing the all girls school (across the road from us) at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

My AS(no not AS levels) gives me the bonus of being highly intelligent apparently, but there are negatives to that too. schumi13 - there are exceptions to all rules of course, but at a national level, girls do better. Jenson_Rules 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 Indeed this is why so many are concerned with boys lack of results. The education system has been feminised a LOT though and this could be a factor!

I got 156, I think, on the National Australian one... It was on TV. Problem is they are different, and you can end up getting some differences based on which one you take. On some online ones I've taken I've got around the 136 - 146 range.
Kay 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2006 The whole western world has been "feminised", as you put it... I think you'll find the western world is child centred these days. Just that women have equal rights now and since we haven't always had that, it will take awhile to get used to.

They're unpredictable and could up and leave at any time to have a baby, never to return. And whenever 1 leaves you have to try and recruit someone who can do the job just as well. Stay at home like the old days I say

bajo39 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2006 Just that women have equal rights now You had equal rights a while ago; right now, I would say that you have better than equal rights and that men are routinely discriminated against. You see, the moral of this is don't employ women. They're unpredictable and could up and leave at any time to have a baby, never to return. And whenever 1 leaves you have to try and recruit someone who can do the job just as well. Stay at home like the old days I say Women are very good at some things, like organizing files and answering phones. I wouldn't shut them out of the workforce altogether but certainly you take a big risk hiring one into an important position, especially if they are at risk of getting pregnant.
