Williams Retain Karthikeyan

I found out the hard way when I ordered vegetarian food on an airline and I got a salad while people around me got pastries and cakes :(

cav's top tip of the day: never ask for vegetarian food on an airline while travelling between India and Oz unless you really can't eatanything else.

well i find it an absolute travesty that there are people in civilised developed countries that have never tried fish & chips. And thats proper chips, not the french fries u get at mcdonalds! I have chips once a week, keeps my morale high

I was avoiding posting this here as it will lead to fireworks, but this forum's getting too quiet anyway, nothing like an old NK debate to stir things up :D

I thought of posting this in the forum, but that wouldn't really go anywhere (well it'll go to 30 pages without going anywhere).

A reoprt on Speed TV:

http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/34394/

Interesting. The figure sounds fishy, but wouldn't it be funny if it actually happened.

Opens up another question, what exactly is the kind of contract they have with Williams. For NK to move, he would have to move along with the Tata contract - assuming that Tata have a contract with Williams for '07. While not officially announced I guess it was implicit when his testing deal for next year was announced.

12 million is a lot of money, perhaps too much. If he is going to embarrass himself against Speed or Liuzzi, I'd ratehr he does not do it for 12 million :D

A driver of his great ability, skill, eyes like a hawk, reflexes like lightning definitely deserves to be on the grid. Will raise a toast if this happens. Indeed he moves with the speed of a striking Cobra Cheetah (Bahadur) and his strike is like a ton of bricks. Surely we can hope for podiums and possibly a WC for the team once he is on board.........

Ah, Keble College is beautiful. Just like Oxford as a whole. Don't tell me they serve fish fingers in Keble College though? I expect something more like shark's fins and port (passed to the left of course).

Oxford was (is) beautiful - My Dad was doing his doctorate at Keble College on the theological apologetic of Ian Ramsey. I was still quite small at that time, so I remember just a few things...Brighton beach is one !

there is a retailchain called jumbo king here which sells vada pav("Indian burger" ,for all the non-indian friends) ... and is much more popular now than any single "roadside" eatery ever was ...

Karthikeyan might drive GP Fridays in 2007

Friday 5 January at 08:24 : Narain Karthikeyan has suggested that 2007 should be an "even more exciting" year for him in F1.

The sport's first Indian driver, who debuted for Jordan in 2005, turned to Williams' second test seat last year, but Alex Wurz enjoyed the privilege of appearing for the Grove team on the Fridays of race weekends.

Austrian Wurz, however, has now moved into the race seat, effectively promoting 29-year-old Karthikeyan to the primary test role alongside rookie Kazuki Nakajima.

The third car rule for Fridays has been scrapped for 2007, but some teams are nonetheless planning to still use a test driver for the new three hours of unrestricted free practice.

Karthikeyan said: "I'm excited about continuing my role as the test driver for Williams, with the added possible benefit of driving on some of the Fridays of race weekends."

I wonder if Williams see it that way.....time will tell, I suppose. Testing will be good for him, nonetheless.
