i remembr hearing about that, he was talking to someone during the end of the race and after MS passed the line, he started waving it to the other driver(who was being lapped) the chequesred flag.

And i am asking in general who waves the chequered flag during the race.

Correct answer will be posted in approx 12 hrs if no one gets it.

Ok, serious guess here: I'd say the promoter waves the checkered flag (Tony George at Indy for example). I know the regulations state that the Clerk of the Course does the starting procedure, but I don't think the regs specify that any particular person must wave the checkered. I'd say the promoter does it, possibly because of tradition.. :eusa_think:

yeah...could be anyone that the organizer, the director and the clerk agree...but the clerk does it almost all the races...

Question 6: How much distance(in km) do Formula 1 car tires are designed to last?

I think you could do a race distance on a single set so I'm going to say 300km.

Whoops misread that one. Depends on the tire. I would guess the soft ones about 100 KM and the hard ones perhaps 120-150

Question 6: How much distance(in km) do Formula 1 car tires are designed to last?

Silly question, depends on the track and the pit stop strategy and the car and the weather.

To be fair, the question was pretty vague, as different tyre types have different operational lifespans
