Autumnpuma 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2007 Come on Rubens was clearly nothing more then a lapdog at Ferrari.Massa was willing to be one too though IMO... Just didn't have as many situations where he could of done something to show it. Mostly because he was irratic where Rubens was consistant.

Jem of the Shire 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 Massa did improve in 2006 and became more consistent as the season progressed, probably thanks to the help from ferrari. He did outqualify schuey a couple of times but on the whole got his butt kicked by schuey just like Rubens and Irvine before him. There will be a few times when Massa will outpace kimi in a quali session, but I dont think Massa can perform at the top level every single race like Kimi can
Shane2 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 I wouldn't tend to agree with that, in the second half of 2006 he was the second highest points scorer, I believe he can definately keep it up.

pumpdoc 2 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 I rate Massa as an up-n-comer and expect to see him on the podium with Kimi often.

goferrarigo 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 Not read what others have written yet, so probably will repeat a few things I have a feeling kimi is having a difficult time to adjust in the car(i hope to be disprovved on saturday night at 11:30 pm(local CST time))but i hope he wins the WDC. Massa i think will put the pressure on Kimi and alonso to a certain extent and will be a WDC contender if not win...Massa you could say is the dark horse for this season(driving for the black horse)
Kay 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 Driver 19: Heikki Kovalainen Height: 170cm Weight: 63kg Teammate: Giancarlo Fisichella Races : 0 Victories : 0 Podiums : 0 Pole positions : 0 Fastest Laps : 0 Points : 0 Races finished in points : 0 This season will be Kovalainen's first season in a Formula One race seat, however he is no stranger to the cars. Many will have first noticed him when he won the Race of Champions in 2004, which gave rise to many testing opportunities within Renault. Alongside his testing role in 2005, he took part in the GP2 series, however was second best to Nico Rosberg who secured an F1 drive the following year, but perhaps Heikki will not begrudge waiting an extra year, when he is at the hands of a double championship winning car. In what will be an intersting season, there are many that rate Kovalainen above his team mate, Giancarlo Fisichella, however it will be a tough fight to prove this in his rookie season, as racing is a whole different ball game to testing. Player(1) 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 From an Autosport issue: ------------------------------------------------- The relationship goes back to the end of 2001, when Flavio Briatore's business partner, Bruno Michel, began to put together the Renault Driver Development scheme. Alonso had just completed a year at Minardi and Mark Webber was about to start his season with the team, and Michel and Briatore wanted to create a more formal network for developing proteges with support of Renault. Having finished fourth in British Formula Renault, Kovalainen was on the shopping list. He was flattered, but had other irons in the fire for Formula 3 and was not able to commit or even make the Estoril selection test. By February those options had run out and his career was in the balance. He went back to Michel. Kovalianen says: "They had selected their five drivers and I called and asked, 'Can I still join you?' If they had said no, it would have been really tough to move from there. And they took me along. Funnily enough I'm the only one left from that original group, and I didn't do the test..." -------------------------------------------------

I think you will be surprised... I even bet my hairbrush that, if the WDC really turns as open as it seems now, Renault will be the WCC because of reliability and consistency in the points! aussief1 4 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 I'm really looking forward to seeing what HK can do in the Renault this year. I stated it before that I believe that he should match Fisi for pace, but may be troubled on occasions in the race by the normal schoolboy rookie errors. If he can keep his rookie errors to a minium he will be snapping a the heels of Fisi in the WDC.

Jem of the Shire 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Heikki is a rookie, lets remember that. He's not going to outscore Fisi this year. Fisi is a good, solid driver who was made to look average by Alonso. Fisi can still beat a lot of the other guys out there
