What Is The Worst Circuit?

This poll demonstrates the problems of a consensus. We are all fans of the sport with decent knowledge and many years of watching under our respective belts and this seems to be the consensus results:

The Best Tracks Are (assuming the most votes are for the worst tracks):

Sepang

Montreal

Istanbul

Spa (I ignored the one vote as someone said they did it by mistake)

China

Brasil

These all have zero votes for them, so they must be the 'best', no? Consensus never lies....

I must be honest here and say only 2 of those tracks would be on my top 6 list of tracks....yet according to this 'poll' they are the top of the heap.

I don't know, the lack of overtaking at monaco does have the propensity to bore some people. Personally I love monaco for the technical challenge it presents the drivers

The challenge at Monaco is trying to not get over familiar with the armco. Take the armco away and the track isn't actually that difficult. Not only that, put the track anywhere other than the principality and you would have quite a non event. Don't get me wrong, i love the Monaco GP but if we're stripping away the bravado and judging tracks purely on merit, Monaco rates lowly for me.

I guess the drivers love the fact that they can get up in the morning from their apartment and walk to the race! Plus, The Jaw can check on his hotel (i wonder if he went there in his cape, scaring the residents?)

Im suprised that only me and one other person have voted for Imola. It really is a s##thouse circuit and provides the most boring racing on the F1 calendar.

I don't disagree, the track on its own would not be too hard, I personally feel the barriers are what make it a technical challenge (and also a challenge of precision). There are better venues on the circuit but Monaco will never go because of the amount of money everyone pockets from it.

I think the real problem are the car, more than the circuits. Imola can be great, even with the actual configuration, if cars were only capable of some overtaking. I love racing on my sim on Hungaroring, quite a tricky layout not unlike Kyalami, of course, we all prefer Kyalami because we compare the old cars racing there with the new cars racing in Hungaroring. I am not sure the old Kyalami would be exciting with todays cars, though.

Actually I like Monaco because it compensates the lack of on track overtaking with lots of unexpected situations that usually make up for a very unpredictable race.

I don't think Imola was really destryed by the chicanes, but that's my own taste when it comes to tracks. I find flat out tracks to be more boring than slow, technical ones. If cars aero was better, nowadays Imola would allow for far more surpassing opportunities than the old one.

As for Kyalami, yes, the new layout sucks! We will never enjoy the good old track again!

It's still better than many and they are removing the last chicane. With that it will be better than many tracks on the calendar.

The worst track on the calendar?

Tough question, as I believe half of them to be God Awful. Barcelona, pants, boring, bland - have you seen how they've made it EVEN WORSE for 2007, there is a new chicane at the penultimate corner. Indy, the worst circuit on the calendar IMO, twisty, tight, and the cars can't handle the banking. Magny Cours; I mean who decided it'd be a good idea to have a GP in the middle of nowhere. Nurburgring; zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
