Who thinks Nico's going to have some "issues" at Silverstone ?

Well, we'll see. I think maybe Silverstone will suit Mercedes more, seeing as I believe there car is more suited to quick corners, and there's more quick corners than slow ones at Silverstone. Same with Red Bull. I find it ominous that on a track that should't have suited them, they won. Unless McLaren does have a big suprise or reliabilty strikes again for the Bulls, I think it'll be them doing the "demolishing".

Since he's so ungrateful to be at Mercedes, he should have just stayed at Williams. Their car is so good.

It's just moan after moan from this guy followed by backtracking. "I DON'T WANNA HAVE MICHAEL AS A TEAMMATE" and then an hour later "Nico is thrilled to have the challenge blah blah blah." "THE TEAM FAVORS MICHAEL" and then thirty minutes later "the new developments to the W01 benefit both Michael and Nico."

I guess I shouldn't be surprised someone who never had to earn anything feels entitled to more than the gift he already got for being selected over a host of drivers despite having never really done much of anything but be overrated. Re-sign Barrichello, take on a young charger like Kubica, take a gamble on Hülkenberg or another rookie...but they give Nico the ride of his life and he's just done nothing but have a problem with it. STFU Nico! Win a race! Do something! If you don't want to be with Merc, well, don't! They're the best team you could ever get so deal with it!

Mercedes probably only signed him due to the Petronas partnership...Nico uses Petronas Syntium to slick his hair back.

What about the EXPENSIVE changes needed to re-introduce KERS after all the teams had a hissy-fit in 2009? What about the EXPENSIVE changes needed this year for the cars to no longer make fuel stops? What about the EXPENSIVE changes needed to get rid of the double diffuser and how much that will have wasted from team's budgets?

Just leave the fecking rules around! Write them once, then lock them in a safe somewhere and throw the safe off a cliff. There, no temptation. Because who wants to jump off a cliff at the end of the day?

Mind you, I suppose working in F1 it is tempting sometimes.

Jonathan Summerton is confirmed as working with Cypher Group. Could they have selected a less-qualified driver? Also, Cypher Group have a "massive global partnership" and are now in a technical alliance with an existing manufacture team. My theory: Parris Mullins (and Chad Hurley) are the massive global partners. Mullins has strong Ferrari ties and the two tried to buy Sauber but those rumors have died down a bit. Ferrari keep talking about their dream of an "American-backed third car" or some such. Cypher are made up of ex-US F1 employees, so I'll guess Mullins and Hurley are funding it and connecting the team to Ferrari. I still think they have no chance, and their driver selection shows why. They did say they wouldn't apply without funding, though, so they obviously feel they have funding.

I wouldn't be suprised if they bought Sauber personally. I just hope they keep Kobayashi. Or de la Rosa. No need to change a good line up in my opinion, if only the Sauber was as good as it looked in testing...

I think it's very unlikely that Mullins, Hurley, etc. will buy Sauber. There's still no evidence they're involved with Cypher Group; just a lot of speculation (and it is logical they would be if the Ferrari ties do exist. The only other manufacture I could see them linked to is Mercedes just because a lot of ex-Brawn guys ended up at US F1 and are therefore probably at Cypher now, but I think that's a massive stretch as Mercedes seem to be getting friendlier with Force India by giving them di Resta etc).

At the end of the day, I don't see Cypher being selected. Mullins might try to invest in a team still, but I don't know. I have a feeling their investment is worth less than they think it is.

As for de la Rosa, he's hinted in recent weeks that he's not returning to Sauber next year, so regardless of ownership change, I think he's gone. Kobayashi could move on to a better seat if one opens.

Testing? Well, if you do super light fuel runs, of course you'll look good. They were trying to lure a sponsor with false speed. They didn't accomplish that.

Sakon Yamamoto is back!

Bruno Senna will not participate in the British Grand Prix due to a "funding issue" (I'll venture to guess a talent issue was involved, too...or should have been).

Unfortunately, his replacement Yamamoto also has zero championships to his name, and fails to be a step up...

Oh well. Chandhok and Yamamoto are a likable duo...a slow one, but likable.

I do wonder why Yamamoto over Klien, their other reserve driver. I guess funding has to do with it; Klien actually has decent pace when he runs (i.e. a few seconds ahead of Chandhok).

Yamamoto's return is so close to being enough to get me to watch again.

So the drama (if anybody really cares about HRT) has started already. Not suprised, Chandhok has been the star of HRT for me so far this season. And yeah, I'm curious why it's not Klien, I suppose he had the intelligence not to drive such as awful car for the safety of his health. The only reason it is tough for these new teams to make it is that they only get six months if they are lucky to get ready.
