Don't forget that the only reasons TM was in 8th was because he was lucky when the Safety Car was called out - He has only Giancarlo to thank for that

The reason TM got 8th was because there were 7 cars in front of him, when the chequered flag danced.

The reason why NK is not in outerspace aproaching Sun is because there is something called gravity.

Yes J_R thats true but thats not what we're arguing about! I'm saying that all renault's failures have been on fisi, Alonso has had none, its very unfair! If he had broken down a couple of times, like everyone else has, the title race would be a lot closer

Plus, who's to say that they have equal machinery!

There's always the possibility that FA gets better equipment, but we have no way of knowing and not enough evidence. My point is that FA can consider himself very lucky that despite being behind kimi almost every race, he has a big points lead cos the mercedes engines are unreliable

Everything besides speed has gone terribly wrong for Mclaren this season, and I don't know why people are blaming KR for his engine failures, I suppose they just want to lie to themselves and say FA is the best, he doesn't overdrive he's car when clearly he's only as good as KR is.

Luck is something you can't make, unless you buy every single lottery ticket there is.

Thanks for backing me up! I think that saying FA has driven conservatively is a pretty weak argument - JPM & kimi have both had failures, its nothing to do with their driving. The best driver/car combination of the year will sadly be runner-up

Well...they look the same...

Maybe Fisi is running a Mclaren painted in yellow and blue...thats why he is having bad luck too :)

I think Fisi is driving a 2001 minardi, re-painted. Fisi is a great driver and it doesnt make sense that he's slow and having all these failures - up until now he's beaten very good drivers as team-mates

I don't think Fisi can be blamed for the ridiculous amount of mechanical faults he's had to endure. It just makes me angry that Alonso hasnt suffered a single one, whereas his team-mate and 2 mclarens have had plenty. Alonso has barely had to fight for his title at all, and he's rarely been the quickest guy over a race weekend, which is what a champion should be

I think in life you only get what you deserve. FA is just a better driver than Fisi at the moment, it's as simple as that. :o

"Alonso can thank mclaren for his wdc - not his own driving ability"

I disagree. Whilst the McLaren and Kimi have been the quickest package for some time. Alonso has done his bit to be World Champ. He doesn't have the quickest car on track yet is able to consistently place himself in a position to benefit from McLarens/Kimi's mistakes. As I've long said, I'm not fussed as to which driver wins, however I don't see Alonso as an undeserving champion. No world champion is. Whilst I believe it's fair to say Kimi has had a shocking run of bad luck, and Alonso a streak of good luck, that's just the way it goes.

exactly. They also should be blamed for giving Renault such a significant head start at the start of the year.

aha fisi's problem's this year a result of divine justice from higher up, thats a new one.

and jemstride, if it was just luck it would have ended long ago.

Perhaps you misunderstand me. Alonso's luck is in the form of him having a reliable car, and his rivals not. His luck will end when his car eventually has a failure too

In fact the early lead is the one thing that is helping FA now. He is kind of maintaining that lead now is'nt he?

Its pretty obvious that the year has been dominated by McLaren's unreliability. Its a great pity that this has spoilt what could have been a great battle right down to the wire.
