Newey For Red Bull

Recommended Posts

Indeed it would. This would be a massive coup for Red Bull Racing as this has certainly come out of left field for me.

If newey goes then what are odds of KR leaving after 2006? I dont think RD is going to let this happen (at least not without fight) as this is his best position to prevent fall apart of the team.

I hope the rumours are true because DC has said that he would like to be in F1 for another 3 years at least and i would love to see him driving/and winning in Adrian Newey built cars again.

Just came in

Official

Red Bull Racing has just confirmed Adrian Newey as the team's new Chief Technical Officer. The British engineer will join the Milton Keynes-based squad at the end of Febuary 2006.

Therefore Newey leaves McLaren after almost a decade. He joined Ron Dennis's organisation in 1997.

Go Red Bull Racing

I dont think it has anything to do with DC. In the many years hakkinen and dc were together, some may recall that newey always stayed in hakkinen's garage, not dc's

I dont recall that but you have to admit its abit odd for Newey to follow Coulthard from Williams to McLaren to Red Bull. They obviosly get along otherwise Newey would never keep signing for teams with Coulthard in it.

I'm sure they do get along - but I doubt that DC is much of a factor. Newey almost moved to jaguar (now red bull) last year when dc wasnt there

Hmm, Red Bull -- McLaren Guru and driver mixed with Ferrari engine?

Thats what i was thinking with French rubber it looks more likely that RBR are going to win a race instead of Toyota and BAR. Plus they have young talent seems like RBR are a team that are coming up the ranks. I think Klien will do very well and DC is a great addition aswell.

I think it would be amazing if redbull were to beat ferrari next year.

Congrats to them though they took our man. but i think we have a ferrari guy called tobias or som like that as well as the great technology centre.

We wont see the benefits of newey until 2007. It is a massive boost - they'd better hang onto dc cos he knows how to win with a newey-designed car, and lead from the front! klien and liuzzi in a front-running 2007 RBR could be risky

Red Bull Racing have confirmed that Adrian Newey will join the team as their new Chief Technical Officer, as autosport.com predicted.

Newey, currently McLaren's technical director, will join Red Bull at the end

of February 2006.

Newey is seen as Formula One's top designer, the brains behind a string of Championship-winning cars at Williams and McLaren.

This is a major blow for Mclaren!!! Big news for Red Bull!!!

Maybe he misses Coulthard, he seem to follow DC around the F1 paddock. He was with Coulthard when he was at Williams and McLaren so why not Red Bull. If the rumours are true this will be a massive help for Red Bull and might justiful DC's comments that by 2007 Red Bull Racing will be fighting for race wins.

I think Red Bull are trying to put together the next dream team like at ferrari ( Brawn etc.)

Let's not count our chickens... Remember he signed for Jaguar and then changed his mind after Ron had a little chat with him. I'll believe it when I see it. It's good for RBR though, if he does go through with it.
