I said that homosexuality is not natural and is against nature. Then I got some people answering that there are some homosexuality in animals and that is their guide to think that homosexuaity is natural, because of that I put that example about paedophilia because nature alud this in animals but that doesn't means that we have to do the same.

You use nature as a euphemism for god when you say something is against nature or is against what we are supposed to do. In truth, we are not sent here to do anything, what we do and what animals do is determined by evolution, we do what we do because we evolved into doing it. A process that has little role for a god.

When i say that homosexuality is against nature I mean that you can take two of the biggest Islands in the world, let say, Madagascar and Australia and live thoses islands one to male homosexuals and the other one to lesbians, no female will be in the male homosexual island and no male will be in the lesbian island, I bet that they will be happy for a couple of years, but the next generation they will be history, they can not be sustain by nature itself, they will disappear because they can not reproduce by nature, so homosexuality is not a natural thing, it is against nature, lets do this and you will see that nature will not find its way this time because homosexuality is against nature.
Species do perish if they are unable to reproduce - a prefectly natural occurrence. Equally I presume you are aware that artificial insemination is possible in humans, technically we can survive as a species without any sexual intercourse happening anywhere. Nor is there any threat that there is a 'homosexuality epidemic', that the entire species is goign to turn gay and we won't be able to reproduce. Waht your post implies is that people who cannot reproduce (or choose not to) are somehow less human? Wherein your club has to include people who are sterile, who choose not to have kids. And people who are too old to. At which point the whole thing gets too illogical to make any sense.
I know that if to take a dog or a rooster as a pet and you don't let this animal satisfy its natural instinc, this animal will become sexualy sick, I talk about a rooster because I've seen roosters leaving as a pet in a house that when you throw a shoe or something this animal try to have sex with this inanimated object,

Well if you think roosters are the only ones who have sex with inanimate objects...

Perhaps you should read up on something before you write a silly post like this:

There are many disorders which are as a result of differences in the brain, there are more than six different 'types' of brain. Autism for instance (ASD) is believed to be the result of an 'extreme' male brain (though no root cause for autism has been found - in any field) by many people as the characteristics are male, but to an extreme. As a female with an autistic spectrum disorder are you claiming I do not exist? By your accounts I must have a normal female brain, but I'm afraid I can't disappear into thin air so you prove your theory.

Look at the dates, this is all recent research and most probably still on going as there is so much we do not know about the brain. Seeing as there is no cause of autism found yet by those researching I guess you are going to say that it is just in my mind because I want to be more 'male' than a 'normal' female.

Perhaps you need to open your mind and see how the issue of sexuality is interlinked with so many other issues. If our brains determine our gender and don't always determine it to the 'two' paths (strictly female or male) that match our sex, then it is also possible that our brains won't always determine our sexuality as attracted to the other sex.

Disorder is good word to expalin homosexuality, there is nothing else to add, a normal person witha normal brain is what it is for mature males are males and female are female, no gays or lesbians, gays and lesbians has brain disorders and something else that is causing that behavior in them and this is my point form the beggining.

I don't need to open my mind, because you just said that thisis recent research and there is still a lot more to learn abotu that wich means that there is no certain thing about your theory and all that have been said so far about that can be changed in any minute, I know the real cause of homosexuality and I know how people can be cured of that, and I can help a real gay who really want to get the rid of homosexuality, and I can get you a lot of exgays who can explain to you about this "Disorder" and how they were healed, there is no mistery for me about this, I know about people who actually changed so no matter what you think about this, this is a disorder and gay people can be healed.

What does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

Maybe gay folk drink more tea, forcing the price up. So if we "cure" all gay people then it's cheap tea for all!

This post is disgusting.

Trying to say those with disorders are lesser people. Ignorance is bliss. Disorders have nothing to do with homosexuality it was an interlinked point not one that explains homosexuality - you made that up with NO EVIDENCE. Perhaps you should put yourself in other people's shoes before you make such assumptions.

You change your argument to suit whatever you are replying to, try some consistancy and you still haven't explained why I, a female, have to an extent a male brain. It hasn't been your argument from the beginning, you've been saying people have choosen to be homosexual, not that they had no choice. If it was a disorder they'd have no choice and it would not be sinful, because 'God' would have created them that way and intended them to be that way.

There is no certainity with any theory because no singular one is proven, but at least I don't go around believing myself to be greater than others and putting others down, that IS sinful. Along with being dishonest that you know the real reason and can cure people, you know no such thing and have no evidence apart from 'God' who by all means chose them to be that way.

"Do not judge or you will be judged."

"Let He Who is Without Sin Cast the First Stone."

The pyschiatric community today no longer classifies homesexuality

as a mental illness. This is a fact. And there isn't an honest medical

professional anywhere who will profess to know with absolute

certainty what causes homosexuality.

But a definitive answer one way or another

is beyond our present-day medical understanding.

What an idiotic post. Have you never heard of intersex babies when they are not physically either a female or a male? If you are born with both sets of genitles are you female or male?

How does that wikipedia link contradict me? It says what I have said - it determines your gender.

Still not explained the flaws in the "real cause".

"Do not judge or you will be judged." * "Let He Who is Without Sin Cast the First Stone."

Who knows ? The question of "casting the 1st stone" maybe still very open. The real question is: Where to cast it ?

Cause as said "begin from yourself" ... May it say us hidden hint - only somebody wothout sin can

(have good will and so right) cast 1st stone ... in a basis of new building ? As anti-example: Babylon and the Sky-scraper.

You no making intelligent argument no. Why does child needing mother and father. In gay couple one is mother and one can being father. Why they no being good enough? Can we catagorise mother is female with vagina and father male with penis. So gay is no being female or male? Tell me why they being gays cannot bringing up the kids. What is wrong with them? What do they lacking?

Gays can bring up children, im not saying that they cant. I am however saying that it is going to be hard for a girl to discuss aspects of her development with a man. Even if one of the people in the gay couple is the 'mother' and the other is the 'father' they are both men, both of which have not experienced things that females do. So tell me hotrod the first time you got your period did you wanna talk to your male mother about it?

This is a very interesting topic. I am a Catholic myself and I was having a conversation with my Physics teacher at morning break and she asked me what I thought about Equal Opportunities. I said to her "What is your definition of Equal Opportunities?" She replied "Where everyone is obviously equal." Now I have a pretty strong view about the corruptions of a modern day school because whatever a teacher does is portrayed as correct and when a teacher/student issue arises, the teacher again who has the power and apparently the 'logic' is correct. The code of conduct in our school is again a heap of trash as my friend who was wearing a plain brown scarf was told to take it off because it is against the code of conduct. Our code of conduct states that a 'plain scarf' is only permitted which was what my friend had on at the time. For me to go to a teacher and point this out would just make them start laughing although the bullet proof 'contract' as they call it states 'you must follow all instructions from a member of staff' in which my case would be thrown out the window.

Predijuce in society now see homosexuals and bisexuals from the planet Mars. No one wants to know them or be associated with them. This strong resilience will always make it difficult if not impossible for gays or lesbians to be accepted and also make it difficult for them to bring up a child. Predijuce is only triggered by the sheer ignorance that has grown in society alike a computer virus on the internet. Clearly homosexuals and bisexuals are just normal people who have a different perspective on love which is only fair to them. The government is doing their out most best to shift the playing field of society and make everything more equal but a few hundred people in the House of Commons is hardly going to make the millions of people across the UK change their opinion. I have to credit them for attempting to do this as it is only right but when are we going to have a society that is not so predijuce and when is that exactly going to be?

You use nature as a euphemism for god when you say something is against nature or is against what we are supposed to do.

Quite possibly. In fact I want to hear from Schumikonen where he thinks all this "natural vs unnatural" debate has got us. He does indeed have a weird definition of the word "natural". It seems to include using artificial medicines, preventing the laws of natural selection working by protecting the weak, using technology like the internet, but it appears to absolutely rule out something that is common place in the (natural?) animal kingdom. Also, far more importantly, what does whether something is "natural" have to do with whether it is morally acceptable?

Disorder is good word to expalin homosexuality

Kay has shown this contradicts the opinion of almost the entire medical community. Can you explain why you disagree?

Gays can bring up children, im not saying that they cant. I am however saying that it is going to be hard for a girl to discuss aspects of her development with a man. So tell me hotrod the first time you got your period did you wanna talk to your male mother about it?

Can you explain to me why this would be "hard" exactly? Men may not have "experienced" menstruation but we are quite capable of reading up about it and talking to women about it in order to learn. Are you saying that parents can't possibly comment on situations they have never found themselves in? If you are also saying that the girl would be embarrassed about it, then I would agree there but with sufficiently considerate, astute and loving parents this is hardly an insurmountable barrier to gay adoption. Whose parents don't ever cause them embarrassment? In any case, sensible gay couples would make sure the child had strong relationships with adults of the opposite sex, for extra discussion and reassurance in just such situations. On further reflection, I think a lot of these "challenges" that gay couples would face would in fact, with good parenting, lead to more mature and considerate children than normal.

The thing is, Murray my good fellow, you still seem to be approaching this from the 'rights of the gay people' perspective. That's fine, if you want to do that and as I said earlier in the thread, I have no problem with gays adopting, etc, but you have to think of the kid. As I also said earlier, some time in the future it will be acceptable, but I have not seen anything to suggest that time is here yet.

You think of a kid in senior school, where the combination of all different factors, probably makes some kids at their very worst with regards to cruelty, bullying, etc, etc. Now you think if you had 2 gay parents and you were in senior school - are you going to go out of your way to invite friends over? I doubt it somehow. If you do invite friends over, how do you explain it? It's an Uncle? A friend of the family? If you go down that route, then you're going to have to take a close look at what family pictures you have up. How do you explain the sleeping arrangments if you live in a 2 up, 2 down, for example? Or you can tell your friends the truth. You're true friends, it will not be a problem to, but any other school kids find out........obviously you're going to be gay by association and that would be the least of your problems, I would imagine.

Hmmm I would have thought any teenage boy brought up by two hot lesbians would have more credibility than he could handle. ;)

OK Paul, to answer your point with the consideration it deserves, I would say "yes, that will be a problem". At least it's clear that it's not a problem in principle, unlike the other problems people point out, and that it will eventually cease to be a problem as society itself grows up. You're also right that the needs of the child have to come first. However that's precisely why the best parents should be chosen from the widest possible pool of candidates, taking everything into account, including sexuality, bullying, menstrual expertise etc.

I'm not saying it won't be harder for gay couples. In fact I think everything else being equal the kids should be brought up by straight couples because it would be easier, for all the reasons pointed out above. However, some gay people may be exceptionally good potential parents: they may be able to provide an unusually loving and stable environment, more so than any other parents available for a kid at a particular time. I think those considerations should outweigh the problems F1_girl, you and others raise. If the parents are sufficiently capable they will be able to raise the child to be prepared and ready for the inevitable teasing so that it doesn't progress to anything more serious than the jokes all kids get in school.

I think you should have more confidence in young people: today the majority are quite tolerant, not all I agree, but most are. My friends in school were certainly very liberal about these things - the kids that got picked on weren't the ones who had a stereotypical "problem" to deal with, they were the ones who let teasing get to them. With proper preparation and support (from parents and teachers and good friends) I don't think having gay parents is an insurmountable problem from this perspective either.

So, in short, I agree the kids come first. However that's why we should consider all candidates on their merits. A gay couple only have to be the best choice once out of all the cases handled over the years for us to oppose banning them from applying. But you're right that we must have a realistic perspective on the extra challenges they will face.

I'm going to agree with pabloh on this, let's drop the pc bull$hit, a kid growing the last thing he needs is for other kids to call him/her and or the'parents' fagots that would be cruel to the kid. You are not doing the kid a favour by adopting them into what the majority of the population would call a house of queers it's not fair to the kid that a gay couple wants to satisfy their selfish need to look like parents when the world is not about to accept this................

Sexuality is not so simple in my humble opinion. I believe that:

1) our sexual impulses are organic,

2) what arouses us results from a combination of those organic impulses and the effect of own experiences, and

3) "choice" only enters the equation at the level of behaviour - which in turn reinforces the effect of those experiences at #2.

As a result, behaviour and "choice" play a limited role at the beginning of our sexual development, but have an ever increasing effect as we progress through that process. The real question is whether those "choices" are real or if they are (for most part) determined for us through a combination of factors #1 and #2.

As a result, I couldn't vote in your poll - because there was no option #3 for the first question.

And as far as I'm concerned, the other two questions should be non-starters. I fail to understand what makes anyone think that they have the right to limit anyone else's inherent liberty and equality based on nothing more than their personal bias and prejudices.

Some of the nonsense that has been written here doesn't even warrant a response. After all these years, one would hope to see more enlightenment on such issues.

BTW - 8% of rams demonstrate exclusively homosexual behaviour, which would tend to suggest that at least some component of sexual orientation can be traced to organic impulses.
