Alonso Demoted To Sixth In Hungary

Recommended Posts

If Fisi is linked with this situation then if Alonso gets the boot by Ronnie then Fisi is in with a good chance of replacing him! If so, Alonso will move back to Renault, where he should belong instead of getting into confusing rows with Ron about Hamilton!

If I was being serious than Button is current champ and Lewis is just a wannabe in a mid grid car.

I am uterly confused. If Ron stated in the clear that Hamilton f***ed up, why are they punishing Alonso? if anything punish the team!

At the end, Mclaren will have to look fr 2 pilots next year, because Alonso is leaving, and I do not think Ron will like this new facet of Hamilton

This should be the last drop for Alonso. There is not doubt that Hamilton is a fantastic driver but I am not sure that he himself makes that much difference to preparing a winning car. The driver that has really made the difference turning McLaren into a winning team has been Alonso. He has simply helped to develop a better car, similarly to what Schumi used to do for Ferrari. McLaren is treating him like nothing in return. He should leave the team and look for a team that is really committed to build a future around him

If he needed a final straw, this must be it.

he will not stay with a team that has let him down numerous times, and did it again- this time, in public.

I don't mind all the bashing going on, everyone can have his oppinion, but what happened on this saturday, is just what Alonso said after the press conference..."incredible, just incredible".

With each passing day it becomes more clear that F1 is just a soap opera and a Sh#tty one at that!

I am very soon done with this BS!

Hm....

Too many people picking at the details. Hamilton screwed up and didn't want to give the fuel-burn advantage to Alonso and refused to heed numerous calls to let Alonso by. Alonso, rightly, took this as a slap in the face and stuck around the pits to screw Hamilton. Fair play and the stewards shouldn't have gotten involved.

The details are actually what has been skipped in most reports.

And you know, the devil is in the details.

Alonso is not responsible for what happened, he has been caught in an internal fight between RD and his proteg

Yep. I still haven't seen what rule Alonso broke, and it was clearly at fair retaliation to something Hamilton had done.

The stewards didn't believe him, that he was complaining about the tyres, because there was no evidence of this on the GPS, and because of this, they sent him back to place 6.

Maybe it had been turned off, i don't know. It was all RDs plan, and he screwed it.

Thats what happened, as far as i now, and it is all just one big mess. Those 10 seconds while he tried to find out why he had been given used hard tyres for his final lap, Lewis said that they had cost him his last lap. So he was punished.

This is stupid, now mclaren wont get a single point at all. All because of those two idiots, make that three including ron dennis. These two childish drivers really needs to be sorted out, first Hamilton doesn't want to give alonso his fuel advantage, then alonso have revenge on him. In the end the team is the one who loss out.

Wait this cant be true, there is nothing on the official formula one website. I refuse to believe this is true. :( No points for Mclaren is as good as suicide. :furious:

It does seem strange that the news are all over the press but nothing is mentioned on the official F1 sites.......

I wonder what is going on.... The only document i have seen is a scanned page with the FIA verdict.

The court of appeal will happen after the race, right? They aren't delaying the publication of the verdict in their sites until they have ruled there?

Who knows... who cares?

I am fully with Autmnpuma on this one. Why on earth is race control getting involvel in this one and depriving us from what would have been a great fight into the first orner? I think LH knew the only chance of winning today was from pole and he was ready to bypass team orders to achieve that, however, he was outsmarted by Alonso. So big deal, they shook hands after Q3 and that was is if it wasn't for the mismanagement of RD... I think the whole team is under huge pressure from commercial interests in the uk and the local press that want a cinderella story around LH becoming WC... It serves the team right to be sanctioned, but it is a disgrace for the sport what that have done to Alonso. I think to put things right McLaren should have PDR take LH's position today. If this doesn't happen (fat chance) than lets hope for RAIN....

These are the questions that need to be answered;

"I was completely out of schedule. I should have been in front of the group, in front of everybody, trying to do the lap, and I think it was very difficult to manage where I was and for how long they needed to stop me in the stop, because I was not in the perfect place to position myself with the traffic."

If Alonso should have been at the front of the group why was he being harried by the Ferrari of Kimi in the opening phase of the fuel burn? It is obvious that he wanted Lewis to be overtaken by Kimi as well as himself.

"I thought that by letting Fernando past, I was open to being overtaken by Kimi. So I thought, 'OK, I'll just go for it'. I didn't think it was a huge problem.

"If he had stayed with me, we would both have got an extra lap, because there was plenty of time. But he backed off quite a bit and lost a lot of time, so he wasn't able to get an extra lap.

Nando is very cunning as he reminded us when he deliberately braked with MS behind.

Looks like Fisi loses five grid spots to. Nice to see some kind of consistency...

Yeah, i'm afraid that in another situation Fisi would have walked free (referring to last year's mess with Alonsos demoting after Tod and Massa's wining).

But of course after their ruling on the Maccagate, they had to show a hard hand on this issue too.

Fwwwrrr - rubbish.

They penalised DC for the same in Monaco. They had to punish him and they've been consistent. It was clear blocking where Yamamoto lost at least half a second.

Yeah my bad, i just watched the accident again and it seems that Fisi changed trajectory twice to block Yamamoto.

Not only that he had to get out of his way being on a slow lap, but he refused to. It's funny Renault called Webber out for blocking Heikki and then Heikki said it wasn't so and it all went quiet. Ferrari also forgot to fuel Massa... so a lot of teams making mistakes in the heat of the moment.

I love this statement from McLaren...

During this intense and frenetic period of qualifying, decisions are necessarily made in seconds to enable the drivers and the team to position their cars on the track at the optimal moment.

If only Jean Todt would have said something similar after Austria. :naughty:

If they wanted to give FA the benefit of extra fuel, why not alter the amount of fuel added to the cars? :eusa_think:

So then, are you going to complain about the team orders at silverstone where they did the same thing for Hamilton? Or is it different because Alonso complied?

"Team orders" is a whole different ball game in the race as to in qualifying.
